Description

Infertility can be a lonely road, but you don’t need to walk it alone. There’s no denying the fact that infertility can take a major toll on your mental and physical health. The hormones, the disappointment, the needles and tests all impact your well-being. There is no way to describe the overwhelming pain associated with trying — and failing — to build a new life and new family with your bundle of joy.But what is less often talked about is the impact infertility can have on the current relationships in your life.Infertility is often a very lonely experience, a fact that is only made worse by the drastic shifts it causes in existing relationships. Shame, embarrassment, and stigma all have effects. Financial strain, lack of communication, and contradictory coping strategies can all amount to major rifts between loved ones. You may remember today’s guest Mandi Bishop from Hope For Fertility, an organization that offers grants to couples all across the United States who are struggling with infertility. They offer financial assistance towards infertility treatments, surrogacy or adoption. Mandi and her business partner McCall Weekes shared their own personal stories of infertility on episode 47. On today’s episode Cody and Jess welcome Mandi back along with Mandi’s husband, Dave Bishop. Together they share what infertility was like for each of them, and how it impacted their relationship. We appreciate how open and honest they both are. Tune in, you’ll definitely be inspired by their story. For more information about Hope For Fertility you can visit their website at www.hopeforfertility.org  or follow them on Instagram @hopeforfertility.Be sure to subscribe to this podcast and share this episode with all the girls you love.
