About the Author
Introduction
Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that’s related to changes in seasons. SAD usually begins and ends at about the same times every year. If you’re like most people with SAD, your symptoms start in the fall and continue into the winter months.
Some of the more general signs for seasonal affective disorder are feeling listless, sad or down most of the day, nearly every day for a few weeks or months, losing interest in activities you once enjoyed, having low energy and feeling sluggish, having problems with sleeping too much or too little, experiencing carbohydrate cravings, overeating, and weight gain, having difficulty concentrating, feeling hopeless, worthless or guilty, and worse still having thoughts of not wanting to live.
There are also some specific symptoms for people who experience fall and winter SAD and those experiencing spring and summer SAD.
For people who suffer from Fall and winter SAD, they experience oversleeping, appetite changes, especially a craving for foods high in carbs, weight gain, and tired or low energy.
For people who experience spring and summer SAD, they suffer with trouble sleeping, poor appetite, weight loss, agitation or anxiety, and increased irritability. Both types of SADs are quite debilitating.
Seasonal affective disorder can be very debilitating. It can make you feel like you can’t focus or do anything. We feel low self-esteem and self-confidence. You can’t seem to snap out of this feeling of sadness or gloominess regardless of what you do.
Therefore, it may seem like you can’t experience a good quality of life. However, this isn’t the case. In this e-book, I will show you how to reframe your life and rethink how you do things. I will outline and discuss some of the most important ways you can shift how you think about the disorder. There is no doubt that living with SAD is difficult. However, by revising how you do things daily, you can ensure that you live a good quality of life.
Obviously, it’s important to accept that SAD can be a difficult disorder to control when
