Hi, my name is Louie Keen. My friend, Scott Young, and I have created a guide to help you get a job as a Bartender or really any job in a bar or restaurant.

I have interviewed, Hired and Trained Thousands of Bartenders

(and lot that never made it past the application stage)

I know what it takes to get hired.

I also know that you can get hired as a bartender, even if you have never had a bartending job before you started learning with us.

Most people looking for a job just go to the bar and ask for an application.

This is NOT a good way to get a job.

By following the advice and training that Scott & I and a few experts have laid out in this book, you will be able to get a job in the bar industry.

    Thanks Louie Keen - http://uranusmissouri.com/

    Message From Scott Young

Hi, my name is Scott and I’ll be your friendly neighborhood co-author and instructor ☺

Many people are painfully unaware of what it takes to get a job as a bartender or any hospitality job. This book is stuffed with tips on How To Increase Your Odds of Getting Hired.

In any industry there are only a few top positions and usually hundreds of applications for any bartending job.

The hospitality industry is no different, with bartending and server jobs being especially competitive.

Once a top job is filled, it often stays that way which makes it very difficult for up and comers to get a break. But there are still some great bar jobs out there.

Or, there will be and the people who are prepared and are in the right place at the right time will have a much better chance of getting hired.

You just have to find them.

    ––––––––

4 things to remember when you're reading this and looking for jobs:

    1. Be Intelligent

Think about what you want and plan for how you're going to get it.

    2. Stand Out From The Crowd

Increase your odds any way you can, create a really cool resume, and don't just be

another face in the crowd. (Not a character trait of a great bartender.)

    3. Be Persistent

Don't be afraid to go after what you want.

    Let ’em know you're there.

    4.  Keep An Open Mind:

Every Suggestion Won’t Work With Every Manager

Keep this in mind as you’re considering the suggestions we give you.

There is no one Magic Bullet or way to guarantee you will be the one hired for any job title. How could there be with so many types of bars and so many personalities/likes/dislikes of the decision making managers?

Make The Most of This Opportunity

    1.  Read the book within the next two weeks. Why wait any longer?

    2.  Write down the 10 – 15 best ideas you see in the book as you read through it.

    3. Take lots of notes on comments, ideas and sections that Resonate with you.

    4. Write the pages that interest you the most so you can come back to them later and really read everything about it.

    5. Then pick and choose the things that you think will work for you with your chosen job title and in your particular situation.

Applying For a Job Is Like Being An Actor Auditioning For A Role

You have to look and act the part of a specific character.

If you were an actor, the role would be....Norm from cheers.

If you’re a bartender, you have to fit in to the owner/managers idea of the kind of character they envision in their kind of bar. The same goes for any job title.

See this book for some more very helpful ideas on this subject.

If you will follow everything we say in this book, you stand a very good chance of getting a job in the hospitality industry. You might have to go to a few interviews before you get a job offer, but the work will be worth it when the money starts rolling in.
