The Art of The Paid Internship - J Thurman
Introduction
I remember wanting only one internship. It was to be a Def Jam Rep on campus at my school. There was only one position, and my friend, Cam, got it. The parties were big, the artists were bigger, and the connections were ultimately more valuable than anything else. But knowing what to do with those connections was key.
It was not until later that I realized how much leverage you have as a intern and how few people learn to maximize this opportunity. They aren't committed to learning and growing and seizing every possible chance to connect.
It is not luck that propels you, it is what you do with the opportunities you receive in life. You can either have what you want or exert a lot energy denying yourself all that you want.
In this book, I will show you some fool-proof methods on how to leverage your internship into cash. If you need to convince yourself about why you need to intern, that is best left for the live seminars that I give across the country. For now, let's get to it! Remember that it is the little things that mean the most, and it is the little things that will get you the most cash.

Write these principles down and keep them at your workstation or on your person at alltimes. Recite them every morning and commit them to your subconscious.
