About this ebook

Why did the President change the Homeland Security Director and leave the country? Now he is off to Europe for a six-day tour with the Sec. of Defense. Why was Rage called up as an HLS agent by phone at home using her special code? Inspector Strong’s team goes into hiding until they can figure out ‘who is on first.’
Why are some of the President’s aids replaced right after he leaves American air space?
Air Force One loses 2 engine on their trip, plus the radio and all other flying aids, but somehow arrives hours ahead of schedule at Heathrow airport.
Can they find mechanics to repair Air Force One?

The President’s travelling songbird dies on the trip. 747 mechanics are rounded up at Heathrow at gun point to work on Air Force One. The President orders his plane to take off which violates every safety code on the books. Can the plane even get in the air with 2 engines, a third maybe and the 4th is just along for the ride. Is the weight to much for the engine power?
If even in the air, they have no instruments to say where they are.
If they can find Canada, will they help the President to get home safely?

An army general can order any military unit into action and is hiding in a bunker someplace. The Airforce has locked down the Mountain and the Admiral is on a submarine under miles of water. Colonel Hill is being shadowed as he moves satellites to spy on something or someone in the UK. The people watching him are such that only Inspector Strong’s team has a feeling they may exist.

Air Force One crashes in Canada with no survivors. His replacement takes over within the hour. The Canadians return the President’s body. Why are they invited to the press conference with the new President? What is the end game and who is in it?

Prologue Part 1 A phone Call out of the Blue

Detective Rage is up and getting ready for work. Her phone rings, Agent JX179 you are to report to the LA office immediately for assignment, the phone goes click before she can say anything. She hangs up and pushes several buttons; the phone shows ‘blocked.’ She ignores the call and gets ready to leave.

She thinks, ‘very few people’ know my HLS agent code. I will talk with Inspector Strong when I get to work.’

She parks in her spot in the police garage and takes the steps three at a time to the 7th floor, not her normal two. She is breathing heavily as she walks straight into Inspector Strong’s office. He is standing reading a folder.

Inspector I received a phone call this morning and said I was to report to the LA Homeland Security (HLS) office for assignment. They hung up before I could say anything. Their number was blocked.

The Inspector offers her a seat, but she stays standing. He replies, Unusual to say the least. Have you anything else.

NO, I came to work as I aways do.

The Inspector nods, Few people know your HLS number. None of those would give it up. I must assume it is someone in HLS headquarters.

She replies, It was no one in the LA office. Agent Harvey would never do that. Besides there is no one west of the Mississippi that has the authority to do so. It must have started in DC.

The Inspector sits down at his desk, Either it is a trick, joke, or for real. They have never acted like this before. The first two are even more outlandish. Either call HLS to confirm or wait and see what happens.

She says, I am going to wait them out. Maybe someone wants me to confirm my code. I will wait.

She goes back to her desk.

Before lunch she has a phone call, Detective Rage here.

You have not started to LA for your assignment agent JX179 You will do so immediately.

I want to talk with Agent Harvey, now, but the caller hangs up.

Agent Harvey is the highest west coast HLS agent and directs from the LA office. Rage is the highest agent west of the Mississippi but is a single agent, directing no other agent.

The Inspector has seldom seen the expression on Rage’s face and comes out of his office, Another call? If Patrolman Jones has had such a call we would have heard about it by now and he would be here. I have not had such a call, either.

Detective Smith looks up from a folder he has been reading. His face has a question, What is going on.

The Inspector points at his office, My office now, they both follow him.

As they sit down the Inspector says, This is unknown to the point that I believe we need to go to a code-2 level. I am skipping code-3. I will call Mildred and get her safe. Detective Smith you should call your wife Alice and ask for the lettuce sandwich in your next lunch. That will put her with Mildred in the safe room in my basement. They will be fine there until we figure out what is going on. An army could not find no less break into that room.

Rage, I know you have had a conversation with your dad about the problems you had on your vacation. While it was low key to most everyone and the sheriff took all the credit; I did not need to know what future protective action you have taken.

    "Inspector my dad,
