Growing Up: Puberty for Boys
PUBERTY OCCURS AS YOUR body undergoes several changes when growing up as a boy.
This happen at different times for boys, it begins between the ages of 9 and 14. It is a gradual but steady process.
Here's how your body works
Hormones, which are natural substances regulate puberty. The brain and the testicles produce important hormones throughout puberty.
These substances go to your testicles and lets your body to begin producing an hormone known as testosterone.
testosterone are responsible for most changes in the body during puberty.
WHEN DOES PUBERTY BEGIN?
When a part of the brain hypothalamus, starts manufacturing gonadotropin-releasing hormone, (GnRH).
The pituitary gland releases Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH) in response to GnRH (LH).
FSH and LH move via the bloodstream to the testicles and ovaries, where they start a series of events that lead to maturity.
What happens to my body as it grows?
AS ADDITIONAL MUSCULAR tissue builds, your body shape may begin to change.
You'll grow in stature, gain muscular mass, and broaden your shoulders.
Boys grow roughly an inch (9.5 cm) every year on average.
Around your genitals and scrotum, hair starts to develop (the soft pouch underneath your penis that holds your testicles). It will develop on your chest, arms, legs, armpits, and face, among other places.
Your testicles produces sperm, which are microscopic cells. The male
