Now I want you to think about the real you
Not the person whom you show while others don’t have a clue
You know, that person who cries in the middle of the night
Then comes back to the world to claim everything is all right
Everyone has a secret door they want to keep closed
Never to be revealed, not ever wanting their pain to be exposed
Yet, while God uses clouds to cover His skies
We sometimes use tears to show pain through our eyes
Some become weak in the knees or start to tremble
While others try to hide the pain they resemble
Pain comes in different ways, yet it doesn’t come cheap
While some try to handle it, pain can make a strong man weak
We are sometimes given pain to show that we can be humbled
It’s not a sign of weakness, yet it can make a strong voice mumble
Pain can come without warning, yet strike through the heart
It is a reminder we should remember to always do our part
So whenever you feel the signs of any type of pain
It’s usually because you’ve ignored the clouds before the rain
So please pay attention, because pain in life is guaranteed
One day you will understand it’s pain that teaches you what you need
Stay In Your Lane
Hey there! Did you have to cause me pain?
You’re out of line if you cross into my lane.
Now don’t look surprised at what I’m saying
You need to get it together and you can start by praying.
Now you know the situation of what is yours
The signs are clear, so don’t go opening doors
While you may want to check it out
You should look both ways before I have to shout,
Now you’re on my highway and you’re going too slow.
Don’t cross my line, you know where not to go
You’re not new to this, so please don’t play.
Don’t act like you don’t understand what I have to say
I know you see those hazard signs flashing
So please don’t let me become the one who has you dashing.
Everybody knows I can become your worst pain
If you don’t respect me by staying in your lane
Each day you awaken, you have another chance to be
Don’t have the devil rise up inside of me.
I know you understand and yet you still go there
Why don’t you see the signs, stop and beware.
Each turn that you take is one to cause me pain
I don’t know why you refuse to stay in your lane.
The road is big enough for you to find your own
Yet you continue to cross over and refuse to leave mines alone
I’m only going to ask you once more before the pain
You’re about to find out if you can’t stay in your lane
My Attorney
Today I met a friend who is also an attorney
Sworn to uphold the Law and is also guided by Thee.
When you sit and think about what an attorney represents
They are people just like you and I, but some are heaven sent.
When we need help with a legal matter that requires knowledge of the Law
Only then are you committed to reveal your hidden flaws.
While we all may have our moments that we say how could this be?
This is when God sends his angel who has the title of My Attorney
Now don’t get me wrong, some are better than others
When addressing legal matters in life getting no help from sisters and brothers.
While the Lord is the only judge that can really guide our path
We still have to face our path when the devil brings his wrath.
Now your attorney may be bound by his oath of the Law
But you still must understand the purpose of why he is here.
Each court that you enter has the sign posted In God we trust
So why won’t you listen when the Lord speaks to all of us?
The attorney that you choose can make the difference of your world
You can get life or you can be treated like a pearl.
When you need guidance in your path before the Judge
Only your attorney can speak and he will tell you not to budge.
Let him speak on your behalf as you, in silence, listen on
Your attorney was chosen to defend where you went wrong.
Just know he will confide in you as he quotes the Laws that be
While the Lord guides the actions of your attorney.
Hear My Voice
Today I heard a voice that captured my heart
While I wondered what to do, the Lord told me to start.
So, I put down my phone, closed out the world
Listened to His voice, which was as precious as a pearl.
Lord, I’m lost at times, that I can’t hear you
While I travel the land, I ask what I should do.
Lord, when you touch me in your special way
It’s by your grace that I am who I am today.
When you touch my spirit, as you guide me
The light that you give is the light provided by Thee.
As the clouds gathered, the skies darken very fast
The sunshine left and was suddenly covered by my past
When I hear the voice of who I believe was Thee
While I listened with fear, I asked are you talking to
