God Is Passing By

Shhh… listen to the sounds around you today

Did you ever stop to kneel down and pray?

I want you to take a moment and think of your past

While you watch someone else get a blessing that happens so fast

Did you ever feel you did not get all you deserve?

Never got yours, yet you feel you’re always on the fire

Did you ever see others around you reaping blessings?

Yet you wonder why them and you didn’t get a thing

What you did not realize is that when the Lord is around you

God is passing by and He is watching what you do

Instead of being envious or wishing things to go wrong

You’re supposed to welcome the person’s blessing that has taken so long

There is no timetable of when the Lord will show

You must always be ready because you never know

When the Lord is giving a blessing or a miracle

You should be happy for that person because the next one could be you

To know that a miracle has happened at this moment

Means the Lord is in your presence and you shouldn’t vent

When you see a miracle happen, you should kneel down and pray

You are in the Lord’s presence and He has come your way

Know the Lord is always present and never question why

Or you could be a witness of God passing by

I Feel Him All Over Me

I woke up this morning and thanked Thee

As I rose from my bed, I felt Him all over me

I opened my eyes and I gave thanks to Thee

As I was able to see, I felt Him all over me

I place my feet on the floor and again, I thank Thee

As I stood up and was able to stand, I felt His hands on me

I was able to walk on my own; I thank Thee

Realizing each day that His hands allowed the presence of me

We take for granted the simple things we are blessed with

Until we no longer are able to enjoy the Lord’s gift

We forget how easy the little things can be taken away

Yet we live our lives expecting everything to remain okay

We need to really pay attention before it becomes too late

While we continue to live without knowing our fate

Each moment we live is another blessing indeed

Yet we live for the moment as we only think of our greed

Too many people only think of their own

Until they are humbled and they’re left all alone

Too many people forget where they have been

Forgetting the times when they felt they couldn’t win

So take a moment and become humble before Thee

I know I feel Him all over me

Who Are You Reaching Out To?

Today I heard a message that was worth teaching

The Bishop yells out who are you reaching?

I had to take a moment to understand his question

As I broke it down to realize it was not a suggestion

When he asked who are you reaching out to?

I felt his message was for me and for you

When we live day to day, do we speak of Thee?

Has the message we delivered a reflection of me?

As we travel and speak of what we understand

Has the message been received throughout God’s land?

Now you can talk to everyone that crosses your way

The real question is did they understand what you are trying to say

While you talk of the Lord, do you live by the Word?

Or are you just talking a talk about what you have heard?

As you travel and reach out to strangers each day

Are you touching the soul of everyone’s yesterday?

When you finish a conversation, do you really get their attention?

Or have you just wasted time on things you needed to mention

So before you reach out or speak to the chosen few

I have to ask who are you reaching out to?

A Day To Rejoice

Hello everyone! I’m glad you could be here

Not everyone was as fortunate as you and me dear

But we are all here to rejoice

Some have good reasons, while others have no choice

While we may feel sad on this day, we must understand the season

When the good Lord calls on you, it is always His reason

So dry your eyes and for those fighting back those tears

Think of the good moments you have enjoyed for years

No one knows when they will get that final call

So we must go through life and always stand tall

Why do so many think of death as a sad day

They are going home to a place called Heaven in a special way

Do not bow your heads and do not be so sad

Think of the great moments our friends and family have had

Do not be sad and do not think they are gone

Look up and see them waving to the angels welcoming song

You should not be sad about such a joyful moment

The Messenger called God’s angel… that is where our loved one went

So when our day comes, you will know His voice

The clouds will clear for our special day to rejoice

I Want

Now these two words can get you in trouble

While you express your desires, they can put you in a bubble

When you want what you want and do not care how it comes

You become a victim of fate that could put you in the slums

Scary how you want the things that appear to be okay

Yet when it is all said and done, it is your fear that you obey

I want is just an expression of your hidden desire

As you sit and think of what you have asked, you feel his fire

The devil gives you those things that you always request

Just to see if you are his to control by the test

I want is something that is cried out in the night

As you receive what you ask for, that is when you feel all right

Until you sit up and view what you’ve called for

That’s when you see what I want makes you always ask for more

So remember the phrase I want and think about your words

As you see things unfold, just remember what you heard

While you may think your wants are stronger than your needs

You will find that it’s your patience that will satisfy your greed

So take a step back from what you feel you want

Because as it may appear, it is your spirit that it will haunt

Now that you have the meaning of what I want and what I need

Just trust the Holy Spirit and you will be blessed at how It feeds

Choices Matter

Today we heard a man speak of his choice

While he heard the Lord speak, he didn’t know His voice

Each time the Lord came to him he could not hear

Until he had a situation that gave him a real fear

Later he found out that the spirit was a warning
