- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is a good, very basic description of yoga for young children. But it is not something that could or should be constructively used to learn poses. The illustrations, although very cute, do not have enough detail to show children proper foot and body placement. And this is important in yoga, especially for beginners.
Speaking of beginners, there are a few poses that are unrealistic for absolute beginners. The tree pose and the hand-toe pose are difficult. Not all children are limber and strong. Trying these moves and failing could cause enough frustration to make them give up. And as a mom, I don't think I'd want my child trying the candlestick until or unless I was certain they had decent core muscles and passable balance.
