About this ebook

About the book
In this very timely book, the author confronts the subject of paganism that has seen resurgence worldwide in the last thirty years in particular and is now commonly referred to as Neopaganism or modern paganism. The central theme of the book is that Neopaganism is now in the process of replacing Christianity as the dominant influence in people’s lives, this being allowed of God to fulfill His purposes for the present age.

    INTRODUCTION

In this book we will understand the word ‘pagan’ to mean the world into which God’s Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, was born into in the first century AD. Here is how one dictionary defines the word, A person who follows a polytheistic or pre-Christian religion, where the word polytheistic means ‘more than one god.’ And here is how another dictionary defines the word ‘pagan,’ one of people or community observing a polytheistic religion, as the ancient Romans and Greeks. We will be looking at this at some length in the first chapter of the book, where we discuss some other such words also, like the words ‘heathen’ and ‘unbelievers.’

And the reason that the title of the book refers to the world we live in returning to paganism that existed before Christianity came on the scene in world history is due to the fact that in God’s design for the ages of history, which are fully under His control, we MUST return to the same world, spiritually speaking, into which His Son entered in human form in the first century AD. In other words, the world we now live in is quickly becoming like it was before Christianity ever existed. When God’s Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, returns to earth again, which believers worldwide believe is soon, then the world He will step into will be just like it was when He came to earth two thousand years ago! The reason that has to be so will be shown in the second chapter of the book, where we look at the four ages that God has divided human history into, including the two separate comings from Heaven to earth in time of God’s precious Son.

In the remainder of the chapters of the book, we will endeavor to show that Christianity, which influenced the known world following its introduction in the first century AD until the twentieth century, is being rejected, while seeing this world’s return to paganism as allowed of God to fulfill His purposes for the ages of history. We will see that the word ‘neo-paganism’ has recently been coined in order to explain this ‘new paganism,’ which is far from new, and is but a return to the paganism in existence in the first century AD. And since the author is an evangelist, the book has an Addendum A, where the gospel is presented for any reading the book who may not as yet have a personal relationship with God, which is vital if one is ever to enter into God’s own eternally-existing home, which is Heaven.

What should also be mentioned before closing this Introduction is that after completing 21 years of formal education and then spending almost 28 years working in Project Engineering and Management in the Corporate offices of a large utility, God called His servant as a non-denominational evangelist in early 1999, and then sent him out a few thousand miles, away from family and friends, to the place of service God assigned, which is where His servant has been and is still serving Him as evangelist, counselor, author, editor, and publisher. The author is a widower with three adopted children, all now married with a family of their own.

And now my prayer is that God will richly bless you as you read this book, and greatly minister to your every need in your life as only God can! To Him be all praise, honor, and glory, with thanksgiving, both now and forevermore! Amen.

Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith.
