INTRODUCTION

This book is being written with two main purposes in mind. The first is that a lot of people, mostly believers, appear to be confused as to WHO the antichrist will be that God says in His word is coming on the world scene after this present third age has ended. And so, our first purpose will be to present information regarding the coming antichrist which is in line with what God has disclosed in His word, the Bible, regarding this coming evil world leader!

And our second purpose relates to the fact that there is also a lot of people, and again mostly believers, who do not appear to know that the antichrist MUST arise out of present-day Europe, which will therefore again necessitate presenting the truth that God has disclosed in His word on this subject, therefore showing that the antichrist indeed arises out of a revived Roman Empire, which is present day Europe! We will also endeavor to put forth truth regarding this evil character, who by all appearances of what is going in the world, will soon be making his appearance on the world scene as the antichrist!

What we will also do in this book is look at the present alignment of the nations of the world, which will be shown to be in line with Revelation 6 and the military conflicts that occurs on earth as soon as the present third age ends, which immediately ushers in the rule of the antichrist on the world scene!

What should also be noted is that at the back of the book there is an Addenda with three sections. In Addendum A, there is a brief outline of the four ages of time, for any reading the book who might not be familiar with this information. In Addendum B, there is a brief outline of the two comings from Heaven to earth in time of God’s Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, for any who may not be familiar with this information either. And then in Addendum C, we have a presentation of the gospel, which is the good news that God has given in His word regarding His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, for any readers who might not have as yet this vital personal relationship with God, through faith in His Son.

What should also be mentioned before closing this Introduction, because we are all somewhat curious by nature, is that after completing 21 years of formal education and then spending almost 28 years working in Project Engineering and Management in the Corporate offices of two large utilities, God called His servant as a non-denominational evangelist in early 1999, and then sent him out over two thousand miles, away from family and friends, to the place of service God assigned, which is where His servant has been, and is still serving Him, as evangelist, author, and counselor. The author is a widower with three adopted children, all now married with a family of their own.

CHAPTER ONE

/ What God has in view when He speaks of the antichrist and the spirit of the antichrist in His word!

The term ‘antichrist’

It is most likely that everyone has heard the term ‘antichrist’ at one time or another. However, unless one reads the Bible, where God makes this known, one might just know that this is a term that God uses to refer to someone who opposes ‘Christ.’ If that is your present understanding of antichrist, then at least you know the basic meaning of the term.

However, in order to better understand the times we live in, and especially come to realize that there are unseen forces of evil in operation behind the scenes, which not only explains all that is presently going on in the world at this time, but also explains what has been going on since the dawn of mankind on earth, let us go on to look in more detail at a verse that God gives to help explain this subject, which is one we used as a quote to precede this chapter, which is 1 John 2:18, where we read, Children, IT IS THE LAST HOUR; and just as you heard that ANTICHRIST IS COMING, even now MANY ANTICHRISTS HAVE APPEARED; from this WE KNOW THAT IT IS THE LAST HOUR.

There are three very important truths that God tells us relating to the antichrist in this verse. The first is that there is a PERSON coming on the world scene in time, who will be called, ANTICHRIST. Secondly, God tells us that even now, during the present third age of time, there are MANY ANTICHRISTS, meaning that there are many human beings now on earth who exhibit the same evil characteristics that this person, who will be the antichrist, will himself exhibit when he does appear on the world scene!

Then the third very important truth that God makes known to us here is that it is now THE LAST HOUR, speaking of the fact that we have reached the end of the present third age. In other words, the present age is just about to end, with very little time left. And the reason that God gives for our knowing that it is the last hour, is that many antichrists have appeared. In other words, just from the fact that so many people the world over oppose God’s eternal Son, Jesus Christ, is proof that we are very close to the end of the present third age of time!

The term ‘the spirit of the antichrist’

And that leads us to that other term that God uses in His word, which is the spirit of the antichrist, which is found at 1 John 4:2,3, which was also quoted to precede this chapter, and where we read, [2] By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; [3] every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; THIS IS THE SPIRIT OF THE ANTICHRIST, of which you have heard THAT IT IS COMING, and now IS ALREADY IN THE WORLD.

God here again discloses two very important truths to us. The first is that God gives a test for believers to use for determining if one is speaking by The Holy Spirit, and therefore a believer, or whether one is simply speaking from one’s human spirit as an unbeliever. And the reason why God gives this test is that only believers, as those who have The Holy Spirit indwelling in one’s human spirit from the moment of one’s salvation onward, will be able to confess, that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, simply because this is a truth that only The Holy Spirit can make known to a person. And so, unbelievers, in not having The Holy Spirit, because never having believed in God’s Son for salvation, will never confess or acknowledge as an inward reality that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh.

Then the second very important truth here is that God defines for us what the spirit of the antichrist
