Who is your GATEKEEPER? Part 7
We are continuing our series on gatekeepers in the Bible. Over the past few issues, we have seen how important it is to appoint the right gatekeepers in our lives. We have to remember that we are, first and foremost, spirit beings. We are created in the image of God (Gen 1:26), and God is spirit (John 4:24).
The role of spiritual leaders
The main purpose of gatekeepers, as seen in the Word of Abba Father, is to let the good in and keep the bad out. They are appointed in a position of trust. If you read 1 Chronicles 9, you see how spiritual leaders are examples of gatekeepers in that which was unclean (2 Chron 23:19). This does not refer to the physical – in other words, keeping out those who are not dressed according to your own denomination, man-made rules, etc. In Hebrew, the word ‘unclean’ refers to that which Abba Father prohibits. This means that we, as spiritual leaders, are to keep out any principalities and powers of darkness that try to corrupt what Abba Father has ordained. It is not prohibiting man to enter, but rather forces of darkness through discernment and intercession. Once the principalities and powers of darkness are addressed, there is a change of heart in the vessel (person) and it can change a whole generation.
