INTRODUCTION

While in a time of prayer in the early morning of January 15, 2020, God made it clear to His servant that He not only wanted another book written, but also what its title was to be, which is The Awesomeness Of God. Then God proceeded to give the basic outline of what He wanted covered in the book. As I then pondered the information that God had given me, I then realized that it dealt with the Sovereignty of God, that is, in the fact that God is not only Almighty, in terms of having all power to accomplish in time what He has purposed to do, but God is also Sovereign, it terms of ALL that exists being under His TOTAL CONTROL, meaning all people, all creatures, all events, and all circumstances, including all evil.

Although God is never the author of sin and evil, yet not even this occurs without His being aware of it, and in His either preventing or allowing sin and evil to proceed, which of course would then be seen as being part of His plan for ultimate good through the ages of time. In other words, if God allows sin and evil, as for instance when the Roman soldiers in unbelief crucified His Son at the cross, this was a sin and it was evil, yet God allowed it and used that event to bring about the forgiveness of sins and eternal life to a sinful human race through the death of His Son, His burial, and His resurrection from the dead the third day!

So what we will be doing in this book is look at various miracles that God has done through the ages of time, as seen in God’s word, so as to be able to see God’s Sovereignty in relation to these events. If one were to look up that word awesome in a dictionary, one would come across descriptive terms like inspiring, marvelous, awe-struck, and excellent. And this is truly what we will see then in the chapters which follow, namely God at work in such a way as to let all of creation know, and the human race in particular, that God truly is AWESOME, because only God – Who is eternal and the Creator of all – has the supernatural power to do as He pleases in His creation in time! Believers will rejoice in seeing the awesomeness of God, while unbelievers will cringe, since both will know that this is The God with whom they have to do, as One Who can bring life and blessing, or One Who can bring judgment and death!

One will find as one reads the book that it has been written devotionally, while trying to be as practical as possible, by choosing actual events from my life as examples. For what is important is for the book to be relevant to where each one lives each day, where the rubber meets the road! As one will see in reading the book, all of God’s children, that is, all believers, are all on an level plain before God, all equally in need of Him at all times, with none above another, so that what is done in each life after salvation can be seen as being done by God so that He alone might get the glory!

Then we are to also note that at the back of the book there is an Addenda with three sections. In Addendum A, there is a brief outline of the four ages of time, for any reading the book that might not be aware of the fact that God has divided all of time into four ages. Then in Addendum B, there is a brief outline of the two comings from Heaven to earth in time of God’s Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, for any who may not be familiar with this information either. In Addendum C, we have a presentation of the gospel, which is the good news that God gives in His word regarding His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, for any readers who might not as yet have that vital personal relationship with God through faith in His Son.

What should also be mentioned before closing this Introduction, since we are all somewhat curious by nature, is that after completing 21 years of formal education and then spending almost 28 years working in Project Engineering and Management in the Corporate offices of a couple of large utilities, God called His servant as a non-denominational evangelist in early 1999, and then sent him out over two thousand miles, away from family and friends, to the place of service He assigned, which is where His servant has been and is still serving Him as evangelist, author, and counselor. The author is a widower with three adopted children, all now married with a family of their own.

God is in total control of the weather!

"[23] When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. [24] And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. [25] And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, Save us, Lord; we are perishing! [26] He said to them, Why are you afraid, you men of little faith? Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm. [27] The men were amazed, and said, What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him? The car God provided His servant back in 2005 was a used 2004 Chrysler Sebring, which already had 25,833 miles on it. This is the car that I am still driving today, namely on February 17, 2020, as this is being written. At present that car has 38,750 miles, which means that it has not been driven very much, which is also why it still has the original tires on it, with about 70 percent of its tread remaining. In fact, the only part that has been changed on this car over the years is the battery, with the car now being on its third battery.
