When Abraham, the father of the Jewish people, was commanded by God to sacrifice his son Isaac, he dutifully set out to accomplish this horrible deed. He took his son and headed out to Mount Moriah. During the three-day journey, Isaac asked his father, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” – Genesis 22:7.
