About this ebook

The Days of the Kingdom is as material intended to bring awareness to God's people that God's kingdom is here, and it is in us. This book also reminds us that we, the church, are God's legislators on earth. We are also the custodians of God's power on earth and the enforcers of the agenda of heaven through the Holy Spirit.

    Introduction

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods (Psalm 24:1–2). This scripture clearly tells us that God is the Creator and owner of the earth. It also suggests that He is in control. But many people, believers included, seem to think that God the Creator has lost control of His creation and everything that is going on in the earth. For those Christians who hold this belief, 2 Corinthians 4:4 is their basis. Second Corinthians 4:4 declares, In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. This scripture is by no means saying that Satan is god or he is in any way in control and Jehovah God is not. What this scripture expresses is that Satan does have influence over the world's systems. However, God remains in control of His creation. He is the ruler of the universe, and there is no end to his reign. The question then would be, why is it that everything around the world seems to be whacky and out of sort? There is so much evil in the world, and apparently, wickedness, greed, poverty, epidemic, and disease—all of which are conditions associated with Satan and the kingdom of darkness—are in control.

We all know that Jesus came and died, resurrected and ascended to heaven, and left the church with a heavenly mandate. Even with the church having this mandate here on earth, the situation is or has gotten out of hand. After all, according to scripture, the church has been given the power to bind and loose.

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loose in heaven. (Matthew 16:19)

Jesus also us-that is believers who are the church—that we have power over the enemy which is Satan.

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)

The quotations taken from these two portions of scriptures from Matthew 16:19 and Luke 10:19 reveal to us how much power God has given the church through Jesus Christ. I call this power the custodian power, the power to instill and keep spiritual order on the earth that would lead to natural or physical order.

There are two kingdoms, the kingdom of God and the satanic kingdom; and two realms, the spirit realm and the physical or natural realm. The spirit realm brought the natural or physical realm, that is the earth, into existence (Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16). Therefore, if the church can fully exercise the authority and power given to it by Jesus, we can affect the spirit realm, which would translate into the natural or physical. This custodian power that the church has gives the church the authority to act as overseer of the earth, which was God's original intention as revealed in this passage of scripture:

And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. (Genesis 2:15)

The last thing that the custodian power given to the church does is to empower the church to stop or disallow the devil from having his way on the earth and allow the will of God to be perfected on the earth. That is how much power and authority the church has. The church is the extension of God on the earth. God is in total agreement with the church because it is His establishment and the body of Jesus Christ, His Son. The church has the responsibility to carry out the mandate and agenda of God. Now after knowing all of this, the question would be, why does the systems of the world appear to be in charge and the church is standing outside and looking in when it should be actually at the reigns? Is that what God intended it to be? The church has been ostracized and isolated from every mainstream decision-making process on the earth. Activities of Islamic fundamentalists dominate the airwaves. So where is the church in all of this? The answer to this question, and perhaps the question itself, has inspired me to write this book. It all began from the beginning when God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1–2), which actually was the renovation of the earth. Before then, there was war in heaven when one of God's archangels named Lucifer rebelled against Him with an attempt to seize power from God. His attempts fail, and he was cast down from heaven (read my book Kingdom Intercession for a complete detail of this account). When Lucifer was cast out of heaven, he vowed to take the battle out on God's most precious creation—man (Revelations 12:12). Ever since that time, everything on earth has never been the same as it was in the beginning.

    Chapter 1

    God's Original Intent

God is a God of purpose. God never does anything without a purpose in mind. He is not a vain God. Most, if not all, of God's actions are motivated by His love. From creation till now, the love of God has been the basis of His actions. The whole of creation was prompted by the love of God. He created earth and put man in charge of it. Genesis 2:15 states, And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. That is the nature of God's love. He created and put man in charge. To further emphasize this, John 3:16 declares, For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The word so here in this scripture is an indication of God's unconditional love for mankind. It reveals the intensity and degree with which God loves His most precious creation.

In this chapter, we will be looking at God's original intention when He created man and whether His intention toward us has changed. Even though there may be some other reasons for which God created man, I believe that there are three basic reasons for which He created man: to have dominion, to commune with Him, and to fellowship with Him. According to Genesis 1, God created the heaven and the earth. Between Genesis 1:1 and 25, God created the earth and everything that is in it, then He created man. God is a very wise God. He knew what He wanted before He began to create. What we need to understand is that God's intention for man has not changed from what it was in the beginning. God's intention for man has always been the same. According to Malachi 3:6, God declared, For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. In this passage of scripture, God is telling the children of Israel that even though they continued to sin and reject Him, He would not allow them to be destroyed inasmuch as they deserved to.

Romans 6:23 states that the wages of sin is death. Therefore, if anyone continues to live in sin, disobey, and reject God, the ultimate result is death and destruction. But in the case stated in Malachi 3:6, God was assuring the Israelites that even though they had sinned and rejected Him and deserve the punishment for their actions, He was sparing them based on the covenant He entered into with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He was saying that He had put His reputation, name, and all that He is on the line when He made that promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and He was not going back on His word. This means that God was not going to change because of the children of Israel. He was saying that inasmuch as He hates sin and rejection, He would not go back on the promise He made to their fathers. He would stick to His word, regardless of their actions. That is how impossible it is for God to change. And if He did not change, then He certainly is not about to change now. What God intended in the beginning, He still intends for us today.

When God created the earth, He made everything and put man in control of it all. The earth was made for man, not man for the earth. In other words, man was not created for the earth; that means the earth is not the master of man. It is the other way around. The earth was made for man, and therefore, man is supposed to be the master of the earth. Genesis 1:26–28 states, And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. If you follow the order of the creation, you will notice that God created the earth and put everything in it before He created man. This tells us that God wanted to make sure that man would have everything necessary for life. God never intended for man to go through the kind of sufferings and struggles that are being experienced now on the earth. The reasons for all the sufferings, struggles, and mayhem will be discussed later, but now I want to concentrate on what God intended for mankind before all this trouble, confusion, and chaos.

As I stated earlier, man was not made for the earth, but rather the earth was made for man. God intended for man to be in charge of the earth, not for the earth to be in charge of man. However, if you take a look around, you will realize that it seems as though the earth is in charge because there is so much calamity, disaster, poverty, epidemic, and disease all around. Man is certainly not living according to the stipulations of his creation. Man is living far below his potential, capacity, and ability. What God intended was to put man in charge of the earth and make him ruler over all of creation. In short, God intended to make man the god of the earth. According to Genesis 1:26, God said let us make man in our image, after our likeness. To be in the image and likeness of a thing means to look like it and to like it. In order words, God wanted to reproduce Himself in man. In fact, the noun god, in the spiritual sense of the word, means ruler and judge. According to Genesis 1:28, the Bible tells us that God blessed man and empowered him to have dominion. Having dominion means to have rulership, control, and authority. So God commanded man; He did not plead with man or suggested it to him. When God told man to have dominion over the earth, He intended for man to rule the earth, just like He rules the universe and all of His creation. In fact,
