Why Does God Love Man?
I am going to attempt to answer this question by using the Bible as the word of God. We may not find one chapter or one particular verse of scripture that will say this is why God loves us, but it will be a combination of scriptures.
The Bible is the greatest book in the world’s literature. It is a universal book, translated into many languages. It is also one of the most difficult to read, especially if one assumes that he can start at the beginning and read to the end as he would a novel or a biography.
To really appreciate the Bible, one must recognize first that it is not a single book written by a single author. Rather, it is an anthology, a collection of literary materials of various types by many authors, from different periods over hundreds of years and from many cultures.
There are many profitable ways of reading and studying this amazing book. One might read about the great characters in Hebrew history. Another might use a concordance and trace the various uses and meanings of keywords such as sin, forgiveness, grace, atonement, judgment, death, life, love, joy, and peace. So although there are many ways to approach and study the Bible, one must first believe that the Bible is the written word of God. He that cometh to God must believe that He is
(Heb 11:6) is the Bible’s starting point for man’s dealing with God.
Creation—the Work of God
I believe God created man for His Son, Jesus Christ. He created the world, and He also created the heavens where He dwells. He created the hosts of angels for His kingdom, some of whom sinned against Him, but He did not provide a way for them to be redeemed. He created man, and man sinned against Him, and yet He sacrificed His only Son to redeem man; but why?
The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put man, whom He formed to dress and keep it. In the garden was the tree of life, and also in the midst of the garden was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
After the man sinned, he was put out of the garden, but why? Because God loved him. If God had not put the man out of the garden, he would have eaten from the tree of life and become immortalized in his sin; hence he could not die, but he would be subjected to the sin and suffering of this life. So then, God’s purpose would be defeated.
God has given His Son a kingdom on earth, and we were created to be with the Son in His kingdom. If we were not cast out of the garden, there would be no hope of us sharing in the kingdom here on earth with Jesus. Then the purpose of creating man would be defeated. Nothing can reverse or defeat the purpose of God. Jesus said, We will judge the world with Him, that is judging the lost sinners
(1 Cor 6:2).
Jesus said, To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame and I am set down with My Father in His throne
(Rev 3:21). For Jesus to have a throne, He must have a kingdom. Jesus refers to the angels as His Father’s angels (Rev 3:5). I believe the angels were created for the Almighty God and for His kingdom in heaven, while the kingdom on earth belonged to His Son Jesus Christ, and this kingdom, man will share with Jesus.
We are often told that we are nothing in His sight, and why do you think that is so? We think that we are nothing because we have been misled by people who have been misguided by the devil.
