ASK VAL

Does God love some people more than others? What I mean is, does He have favourites like human parents do?

The Bible says that (1 John 4:8,16). That means He does not love some more than others. He love – and 100 percent of that love is extended to every person who has ever lived. Obviously not all will receive His (Rom 2:11). God does not show favouritism. He loves us equally. There is nothing we can ever do to make God love us more and there is nothing we can ever do that will make God love us less. The Lord promises never to leave nor forsake us but, sadly, we often move away from Him. As an old hymn puts it: “Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it; prone to leave the God I love. Take my heart, oh, take and seal it; Seal it for Thy courts above.”
