We are saved so that we might become consecrated to God. Christ gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing what is right. (Titus 2:14 NLT). The end result is that we may be changed to become like Christ in every way. The present day church has lost much sense of consecration. The dividing line between Christians and unbelievers has become very thin.

According to Watchman Nee in The Spiritual Man, How lamentable to find modern-day Christians achieving no progress in their spiritual walk after several years, nay, even after decades. These moreover are filled with amazement if they find some who do enter upon a life of the spirit after a number of years….We should not become aged babes, grieving the Holy Spirit and suffering loss ourselves. All regenerated ones should covet spiritual development, permitting the Holy Spirit to rule in every aspect so that in a relatively short period He may be able to lead us into what God has provided for us. We should not waste time, making no progress.

The book Consecration serves to rekindle in believers the desire to surrender themselves absolutely to God by the working of the Holy Spirit. This is important if the church must return to her glorious days.

It is no doubt that Christians in most places have begun to cry to God for a revival in our days. May the revival come. Amen! The church must be purged of every form of worldliness and carnality; but it begins with you.
