    Introduction

    Losing Weight the Natural Way

    ––––––––

In order to lose weight, you should know a little about how weight is gained.  Weight is not gained overnight, but slowly and gradually.  It’s an entire lifestyle that contributes to weight gain.  It starts out small.  A little more servings, a little more time spent sitting instead of moving, a little more stress, a little less sleep... until gradually you find yourself weighing more and more.  Weight is gained by all these things, and more, such as the ingredients used in the foods you eat.  White processed flour, for instance, can sneak up in your soup, drinks, and cereals.  Sugars and salt, more than what’s needed for your body for an entire week, can be contained in a single serving of a meal.  We don’t need to have that much sugar or salt in our meals nor in our bodies. So what happens to the excess?  It turns to fat, which reduces our muscle balance, and that leads to less metabolic burn.  The more muscle mass you have versus fat, the easier it is to lose weight and stay in shape.

The goal is to eat healthier by eating more naturally with less salt, less process sugar, less animal fat, but with more fiber, more protein, and more healthy fats. By making small changes such as substituting processed ingredients for its natural counterpart, you not only get more flavor in your foods, but you end up with less calories.  Foods that are low glycemic (food that is not processed, but require your body to break down the food) helps your body naturally jump start your metabolism.  Your body will absorb the natural ingredients more readily than the processed ones.

    What’s Special about these Recipes?

Without having to worry about whether or not they are healthy for you, all these recipes have been carefully selected so you can enjoy them without feeling the guilt.  Sugar when it can, is substituted with stevia sweetener, a natural sweetener from a South American plant. Salt is substituted with Himalayan sea salt, a natural form of salt that is less processed. These recipes are:

Less than 350 calories per serving

    Less sodium

    Less sugar-laden

    Less Fat

    Low Glycemic

    High in Taste (Naturally)

    How to Use this Cookbook

These recipes are designed to be easy and intuitive.  While this is not a diet book, these recipes do have ingredients that are used to keep the meals lower in calories while being healthy and nutritious. As in all diet changes or change in lifestyle, consult with a medical professional before embarking in any changes.
