About this ebook

Matt, like many transgendered people, was stuck in a body that is not his. For most of his life, he had been able to stuff the needs away from friends, family, and himself. Another need, just as strong, complicated his life. When a woman missing a leg moved next door, all repressed needs exploded for him. Her solution was deceptively simple and better than he could have imagined.

Author, wife, lover, and amputee. I have been missing my left leg for years. Growing up I felt that it should not be there, and it is has been a blessing to have it gone. Today's term for this condition is BIID and in the past simply referred to as being a 'wannabe'. I am a full-time crutch user. Like my husband, I find amputees fascinating. 'Devotee' is the frequently used term. My stories have characters that mirror my life in some manner - wanted/needed to be an amputee or want to live with an amputee. I make no apology for my descriptions of these people and there is no intent to take away from the suffering of some amputees. I love feedback on the stories, but I cannot promise to reply.

    * * *

She had moved into the rental next door to Matt a few days before, and he secretly watched her every moment he could. She was stunning in so many ways - tall with a perfect shape and long black hair that often draped her shoulders, but sometimes pulled back in a ponytail through a baseball cap. He was jealous of her lover, if she had one. Even the fact that she had only one leg did not detract from her beauty.

Now she lounged on a large beach towel reading a paperback book, a skimpy black bikini bottom exposing perfect buttocks, the single foot wavering in small circles above her. The matching bikini top lay at the edge of the towel, and he hoped she would roll onto her side or back to expose breasts he imagined being as perfect as her body. His attention was so focused on her that he lost track of what he was doing and continued drying the same dish.

At last, the woman sat and pulled the right foot close to her stump. The breasts were even more spectacular than Matt had imagined, and she made no effort to hide them. He watched, though stared might be more accurate, and dragged a hand over the front of his jeans feeling all that swelled inside.

A fence separated the yards making it difficult to be spontaneous about speaking to her. I just noticed your naked boobs and wanted to introduce myself. That would not work even though she seemed to not be shy about leaving them in full view. Perhaps she did not understand he could see into her backyard. Fat chance.

She worked, and he began planning his departure to match hers. Impeccably dressed in a business dress one morning, she opened the car door and put the first crutch behind the seat. He stepped across the lawn in her direction. She left the second crutch under one arm as she turned his way.

Hi, I'm Matt, your neighbor. He smiled big for her.

I hope so-o, or maybe you're the neighborhood burglar trying to steal my heart. She laughed heartily at her little joke, and he stopped close by with his hand out. I'm Lynn. She actually dragged her tongue slowly across her lower lip before letting go of his hand.

Sorry it took so long to introduce myself. I assumed you were busy getting unpacked and settled.

Yeah, moving is such a bitch. The absolute worst thing in life I can think of. It's a good thing I don't have much to move.

You're probably in a hurry to get off to work, but I would like to take you to dinner one evening.

Hmmm, I'd like that. Which one? She chuckled.

    How about this one?

Times such as this make going to work seem like such a waste of time. She stroked a finger along his upper arm then left a big grin across her lips.

I know what you mean. We could play hooky, open a bottle of wine, and have a picnic.

My, my. That sounds nice, if you are serious. I do need to work on my tan. Besides, my meeting this morning is not important.

As serious as a heart attack. He laughed, and watched her pull the crutch from the back seat before locking the car.

I wish I had a pool. Do you know anyplace to swim?

There's a beach on the banks of the river that's only a few miles away.

Perfect. Let me run inside and change my clothes then I'll meet you by your car in a few minutes.

    I can't wait.

It didn't matter what she had in mind. He knew he was about to spend some time with a beautiful woman missing a leg. His fantasy would become real, and maybe a few hours would turn into something longer. He also knew he was getting ahead of things; something he often did when he met new women.

She was wearing a casual sundress and holding a canvas beach bag when she stopped beside his car. He wore khaki short pants and a white polo shirt.

I don't think you could be more beautiful.

Well, I do have my bikini. We can test that theory when we get to the beach.

I might break a land speed record.

Not anxious, are we? She laughed and walked to the passenger side of the car and stowed the crutches then settled in the seat. Her eyes seemed to undress him as he buckled his seatbelt. I hope you're single.

I was hoping the same about you. He briefly touched her knee.

Yup, we're good to go it seems. I would have expected a bevy of lovelies to be panting around you.

At the moment, I surely fancy myself the luckiest man around.

There was silence for a few blocks, her eyes remaining glued on him. He watched as much as possible without having a wreck.

Are you partial to missing legs, or perhaps you're less specific in your interests?

    What makes you...?

She rubbed the seat where a thigh would normally have been. "You haven't taken your eyes off this space. I have a feeling I could have unbuttoned my top, and you'd still look right here." She tapped the seat with her palm several times.

Guilty as charged. He stopped at the small intersection by the market, and then turned left onto river road. I hope I haven't offended you.

"Nope, but quite flattered though. Most men, well I'd say all men, reject me out of hand just because of the leg. I've noticed you looking over the fence a few times. She laughed. I'm just glad that we finally met."

"I can't believe that men don't want to be with you just because of the leg. Were you expecting that?"

Some, but not to this extent.

How long has it been, if you don't mind my asking?

Recent, but I don't mind either missing a leg, or that you asked. Have you known any amputees?

No, but I've dreamed about it.

Meeting an amputee or about being one.

There are no other cars in the parking lot as they stop near the trailhead. His heart raced
