About this ebook

Patty had not made peace with her weight problem. She did not have much luck keeping a man in her life, but that did not keep her from trying. In college, she learned chubby women fascinated some men. One guy even took her a strip club specializing in performers like her.

The job as a paralegal at a downtown law firm in Marlboro more than paid the bills. The partners loved the way she attacked every assignment. Clients loved Patty as well. The office was a short walk from the upscale flat she owned with a great view of the skyline. A diner on the way offered a place to read the newspaper at breakfast. A large plaza a place for lunch when the weather permitted. Restaurants and shops along the river were a favorite haunt on weekends.

Then a car pinned her against the wall of a building. Amputation was the only option. Heavyset and an amputee made it difficult to date. Two men walked away before leaving the hospital. Another did not last much longer.

All she dreamed about was a way to trade bodies, even if the new one were also missing a limb, just as long as it was not chubby. Learning that just as some men enjoyed a heaver women, some were into amputees only fueled the fantasy of changing bodies.

Peggy Buxton

Author, wife, lover, and amputee. I have been missing my left leg for years. Growing up I felt that it should not be there, and it is has been a blessing to have it gone. Today's term for this condition is BIID and in the past simply referred to as being a 'wannabe'. I am a full-time crutch user. Like my husband, I find amputees fascinating. 'Devotee' is the frequently used term. My stories have characters that mirror my life in some manner - wanted/needed to be an amputee or want to live with an amputee. I make no apology for my descriptions of these people and there is no intent to take away from the suffering of some amputees. I love feedback on the stories, but I cannot promise to reply.
