I thought this book would be a lot like the other billionaire books, but halfway through the book, the story is just dragging. I could not finish it, there’s zero chemistry between characters. There’s zero character development, a waste of time.

2. Nate wants to seduce Evie, his assistant. Being subtle has not gotten him where he wants to be, so his friend tells him to “Just pull a Hitler. Invade.” Already I knew this wasn’t going well.

1. Evie is invited to her new fake in-law’s house where she meets them for the first time. At that first time meeting, she takes a pregnancy test. Her fake in-law’s young son sees the pregnancy test box on the counter when he goes to use the bathroom, and she HELPS HIM pee on a stick. I cannot believe this writer thought it would be appropriate for a stranger to help a child in the bathroom. Nothing untoward happens, but that was very unsettling. If the roles were reversed that never would’ve flown past editing or beta readers. I stopped reading the book at that point.
