Killer story and steamy sexy scenes - but the male voice actor sounds WAYYY too old to play Fausto. Makes it creepy with such a younger sounding female doing Frankie's voice. Recast for a better experience as it ruins the book for me.

Perfection! Exquisite balance of spicy and sweet. I don’t understand the comments about the male narrator. His performance was amazing. His voice and his performance perfectly conveyed the power and magnetism his character embodied. The same is true for the female narrator. She got all the accents just right, and brought her character to life in a dynamic and nuanced performance.

I never leave a book unfinished but this was the exception.
I tried. I really did. I made it all the way to chapter 20, hoping things would pick up or there will be some kind of plot twist, but unfortunately it never came.
The entire story revolves around Fausto wanting to sleep with Francesca. That’s it. No real plot, no character development, just a repetitive cycle of Francesca resisting, Fausto “punishing “her, and repeat. It quickly became tiresome and predictable. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a spicy book. I’m all for well-written steam, and complex dynamics . But in this case, the language felt more degrading than seductive.
Every chapter felt like a rehearse of the last. There was no buildup, no tension, no stakes. I kept waiting for something to happen… But nothing ever did. If you’re looking for a romance with depth, character growth or even just a plot beyond the physical dynamic, I suggest giving this one a hard pass.

I read this book after seeing a recommendation for it on a YouTube review however, I started to wonder whether the YouTuber read it on paperback rather than listened to it. It’s hard to imagine how much that would change my impression, but I can say that this audio version left much to be desired. This is my first time checking out a book by this author. I felt like the writing was a little rough and unpolished, especially in the descriptions of sexual encounters and body parts in general. I listened to this book on twice the speed and experimented with dropping it down to see if the male narrator was more appealing that way, but realized he wasn’t on either speed. I really tried to give this book a go, but after getting halfway through, it just didn’t have enough conflict and tension at the core of the plot to keep me interested as a reader, which is essential for any book or story. There just wasn’t enough here. I’m not sure if I will check out other books by this author.
