About this audiobook

From New York Times bestselling author Kristen Callihan comes a smart, emotional contemporary romance about finding love with the most unlikely of people.

As kids, they hated each other. Macon Saint was beautiful, but despite his name, Delilah knew he was the devil. That he dated her slightly evil sister, Samantha, was no picnic either. When they broke up, it was a dream come true: Delilah never had to see him again.

Ten years later, her old enemy sends a text.

Delilah’s sister has stolen a valuable heirloom from Macon, now a rising Hollywood star, and he intends to collect his due. One problem: Sam has skipped town.

Sparks still sizzle between Macon and Delilah, only this heat feels alarmingly like unwanted attraction. But Delilah is desperate to keep her weak-hearted mother from learning of her sister’s theft. So she proposes a deal: she’ll pay off the debt by being Macon’s personal chef and assistant.

It’s a recipe for disaster, but Macon can’t stop himself from accepting. Even though Delilah clearly hates him, there’s something about her that feels like home. Besides, they’re no longer kids, and what once was a bitter rivalry has the potential to be something sweeter. Something like forever.

LISTEN! I actually really loved this book. I listened for an easy read but ended up not being able to stop listening!! The build up to these 2 were just great and the storyline is actually really good, lots of misunderstandings and finally “ah” moments. Both the characters really suited their voices - which is a plus as this usually really bugs me. Overall a great listen!

This book should be read before Make it Sweet…I read them in reverse, but can see how Macon and Delilah’s HEA is further explored in Make it Sweet. That said, they’re not duet books, and there are no cliffhangers.

I adored Callihan’s approach to writing Dear Enemy! It was beautifully executed…the role food and family play in Dear Enemy made it truly sumptuous! These books are not similar to Callihan’s young adult novels, which were my only reads by her prior. I’m greatly hoping she’ll write more similar to Dear Enemy and Make it Sweet!

The narration is superb…I highly recommend!

Too long and both characters are not at all likeable.

The female narrator is terrible, I think she tries to sound breathy but everything ends up sounding like she’s whining. It’s like nails on a chalkboard. Her attempt at a male voice is horrendous.

I absolutely loved this book! And the narrators did an amazing job portraying the characters' feelings. This was probably the best audio book I've listened to in months. Great story line also.

This is one of her best books. The story line brings sadness, love and pure feelings all together. Such a joy to read.

The story is quite catchy and the main characters are so sassy that I couldn’t put down the book at first. The last half was a little boring and slow that it made it a bit hard to finish it. It’s nice romance story but I’d like to believe that when the main characters immerse in their passion doesn’t mean plot is lost or nulled. Still a nice book to pass the time.

I loved this story. So very great how it goes from enemies to lovers. Both grow up and meet due to unfortunate circumstances but due to closure approximaty they learn more about each other and things just heat up from there.

The premise involves forced indentured servitude for a sibling’s crimes. This doesn’t make the audience favor the mc from the start. A little too much fat-shaming plus dreadful trauma make for a depressing read

    Love this book.

Male narrator isn’t doing it for me. Sounds weird and can hear his mouth haha and he sounds like an old man.

Great female narrator she could have done both parts.

I thought this book started out strong and had good reasoning behind the plot line, but it fizzled out for me. There wasn't enough tension or intensity. It got too bland, unfortunately. Got to the 60 percent mark and decided to stop there as I just wasn't invested enough to finish.

I thought this was a cute childhood enemies to lovers story. It's the clichéd boy being mean because he likes her. It's an entertaining read.
