Description

Happy Satiated Saturday! It was my Junior year of Undergrad. I was going to the University of Vermont that required we take two physical movement classes within your 4 years. I chose to take weight lifting. I was told that it was the easiest class to take even though I had never lifted weights before. I did actually learn a lot about how to properly lift weights in that class but the class did not include instructions on how to nourish one's body when doing this kind of physical movement. I ended up with all sorts of symptoms simply because I did not know how to accommodate the body's new needs. This led me to seeing my very first Nutritionist who worked on the school campus. I feel lucky that this Nutritionist was very open minded and not really about right and wrong thinking when it came to food. One day she told me, "Stephanie, sometimes you're going to overeat and sometimes you're going to discover you didn't eat enough. And on the grand scheme of a whole month you will be able to look back and see that you still got what you needed." This has stuck with me since then. There is so much kindness and compassion and spaciousness in this guidance. We get to accept that overeating or binging is sometimes just a part of life.In this week’s episode, I discuss how you can respond after a binging or overeating experience that supports you in feeling connected and relaxed and process and digest that eating experience without judgment, shame, or guilt. You can also read the transcript to this week’s episode here. Responding to ourselves in new and different ways can take time. You get to take all the baby steps you need on this food and body adventure. With Compassion and Empathy, Stephanie Mara FoxSpecial thanks to Bendsound for the intro music in this episode. www.bensound.comSupport the showKeep in touch with Stephanie Mara here:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_stephaniemara/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stephaniemarafoxWebsite: https://www.stephaniemara.com/https://www.somaticeating.com/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephmara/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@stephaniemarafoxContact: support@stephaniemara.comSupport the show:Become a supporter of the show here: https://www.buzzsprout.com/809987/supportCheck out my favorite water filter: https://www.pureeffectfilters.com/#a_aid=somaticeatingCheck out my favorite protein powder and receive 15% off when you use the code STEPHANIEMARA at checkout here: https://www.equipfoods.com/discount/STEPHANIEMARA?rfsn=7433250.c99684Use my Amazon Affiliate link when shopping on Amazon: https://amzn.to/448IyPl Special thanks to Bendsoun...
