Description
In today’s Monday Message, Emily talks about breaking self sufficiency. The survival instinct in us turns on our self sufficiency in order to get through hard things. We rely only on ourselves to make it through. You may not have had to work through breaking this habit but if you have, you know it can be very difficult. It is important to allow others to step in and help you and show up for you. You may have always felt alone and you continue to battle on your own. You may see asking for help as weak. Of course there’s things and experiences in life we must all do on our own, but there are times when it’s healthy to lean on someone else. We all need someone to listen to us, encourage us, support us and when we don’t lean into those relationships we will always rely on ourselves which isn’t always a good thing. Leaning on a friend, a family member and God can help us get through the hardest moments in life and sometimes helps us get through them sooner than we would if we relied on just ourselves. We don’t want to focus too much on what’s wrong in our lives so it’s so important to allow others to lift us up and to move forward. Protect your focus and be intentional about it. Allow others to show up for you. That’s today's message.
