Description
EPISODE 41 - Off the top of this episode, Clark, Hyung, and John reassess their concern level for baseball card values in light of the ongoing MLB lockout. Then in the Hobby Headlines segment, they discuss the problem with shilled auctions, how to spot them, and offer some solutions on how to avoid being a part of one (while waiting for some major platforms to clamp down on shill bidding).
The guys then play another round of Fast Five – this time indicating whether they would buy, sell, or hold cards of players who are somewhat surprisingly performing extremely well and currently sitting in the top 5 scoring categories (for both the NHL and NBA). The players include: Jonathan Huberdeau; Nazem Kadri; Johnny Gaudreau; Joel Embiid; and DeMar DeRozan.
The show ends off with its regular weekly segment, Pick One – Regular Edition, where they each give two sports cards or sets and debate which one they would rather invest in. The Pick One pairs for this episode include: Trae Young Panini Prizm Silver (PSA 10) at $750 vs. Ja Morant Panini Prizm Silver (PSA 10) at $2,000; Kyle Lewis Bowman Chrome base (PSA 10) at $20 vs. Gavin Lux Bowman Chrome base (PSA 10) at $40; and Luka Doncic Red Prizm /299 (PSA 9) at $2,500 vs. Luka Doncic Silver Prizm (PSA 10) at $3,000.
