Description

EPISODE 67 - Clark, Hyung, and John give some suggestions off the top of this episode to Beckett Grading Services on how the company can improve its service and regain some market share. Some of the advice include offering faster turnaround times at lower service prices (ie. compete more against SGC as opposed to PSA) and allocate some of its budget to marketing its brand a little more.
Then the guys talk vintage sports cards, which are holding its value relatively well during this bear market while all other sports card markets are trending down. They offer a few of their favorite picks (other than the Mickey Mantle 1952 Topps rookie card) that they would love to add to their own personal collection both as a collector and investor.
Next the guys introduce a new segment simply called "Overrated / Underrated." For this episode, they are given five types of cards (ie. Dual Sticker Autograph Cards, Panini Prizm Football Manga Insert Cards, IP Autograph Cards) and choose whether each one is overrated or underrated, and explain why.
Lastly, as usual, the guys play "Pick One" where they name two cards or sets, and then debate which one they would rather invest in. The pairs chosen this week include: Mickey Mantle 1951 Bowman #253 (PSA 6 at $36k) vs. Mickey Mantle 1952 Topps #311 (PSA 2.5 at $48k); More likely to win another ring - Stephen Curry or Kevin Durant; Trae Young 2018 National Treasures RPA /99 RAW (11K last sold) vs. Zion Williamson 2019 Panini Prizm Blue Parallel /199 PSA 10 (11K last sold).
