Description

EPISODE 64 - Clark, Hyung, and John open the show with a deeper look into the recently released 2022 Topps Series 2 Baseball set and discuss whether it's worth ripping – even with the short-printed cards of Julio Rodriguez, Bobby Witt Jr., and Spencer Torkelson.
The guys then move on to this week's Hobby Headlines where they discuss some recent sales of sports cards sold at relatively low prices (ie. Luis Robert Bowman Chrome Autograph Rookie Card and Mookie Betts Topps Heritage Real One Autograph Rookie Card to name just a couple), and whether they feel it's a good buy now or if it's time to reconsider even buying some of these cards during this shaky economic market.
They segue into a new segment called "Chasing GOATs" where they compare the highest sale price of some iconic GOAT cards to the last sold price, and talk about if it's a good time to invest in these GOAT players at current prices or if they believe prices could go down even further. The cards discussed include the Mike Trout 2011 Topps Update rookie card (PSA 10); Lebron James 2003 Topps Chrome rookie card (PSA 10); Patrick Mahomes 2017 Panini Prizm rookie card (PSA 10); and Connor McDavid 2015 Upper Deck Young Guns (PSA 10).
And as usual, they close off the show with the weekly segment, "Pick One" where they put up two cards each and subsequently debate which one they rather invest in. The pairs for this week include: Ronald Acuna Jr. 2018 Topps Series 2 Bat Down (PSA 10) vs. Ronald Acuna Jr. 2018 Topps Update Gold (PSA 10); Get rid of non-autograph relic hits and sticker autos vs. Get rid of overprinted parallels; Cal Ripken 1982 Topps Traded PSA 10 ($5K) vs. TWO Derek Jeter 1993 Topps Gold PSA 10 ($2500 each).
