We're less than two weeks away from LSU vs. Florida State kicking off in the Caesar's Superdome (!!!). So what more have we learned about LSU's team and how it will look on September 4 in New Orleans?
Focusing in on the offense today...
As it stands, LSU RB John Emery will be out for the first two games of the season against Florida State and Southern due to academic ineligibility. He is appealing the ruling by the NCAA, but until then this LSU offensive unit needs to prepare like he won't be out there. How will the "running back by committee" approach work without Emery? Is there enough RB depth to get the team through the first two weeks until his return?
Another position group that is still up in the air is the offensive line. The first team unit has been the same until Saturday when we saw some switch-up at right tackle, right guard, and left guard. When will that group be finalized and are we concerned about Garrett Dellinger's repeated poor snaps in practice?
Finally, the QB competition will be a glaring topic of conversation until the starter is named. And even then, we're going to talk about it. Brian Kelly had some interesting words about the current state of the QB competition...will we see a couple different faces under center this season?
