Description

LSU football's blowout loss to the Tennessee Volunteers is not indicative of this football team; it was a bad day, not a bad team, nor a bad coaching hire. But that loss did expose some of LSU's weaknesses, both on the field and on the coaching staff, that need to be cleaned up before continuing on to Florida, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Alabama.
Locked On LSU host Caroline Fenton highlights on thing each on offense, defense, and special teams that needs to be cleaned up in order for the LSU Tigers to be successful. Why didn't Brian Kelly and defensive coordinator Matt House play standout freshman Harold Perkins against Tennessee when he has been a force on the defense all season long? What is LSU's offensive identity, and how many games can they win while they figure it out? We all know that Brian Kelly and offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock are notorious for utilizing the tight end position, but does throwing to Kole Taylor and Mason Taylor over Kayshon Boutte, Jaray Jenkins, and Jack Bech give LSU the best chance to win? If some of LSU's best players are also contributing on the special teams unit, then why are special teams struggling so mightily? LSU football head coach Brian Kelly addressed these things in his weekly press conference leading up to his teams matchup with the Florida Gators.
