Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is the next generation of Google’s flagship analytics platform. GA4 replaces Universal Google Analytics (UA), which has been in use since 2006. Shopify will be among the first platforms to adopt GA4. The switch will provide Shopify merchants with more accurate data, better insights, and more features. GA4 also offers improved privacy controls and is more resistant to data manipulation.
