    Chapter One

Steve tried not to panic. He could get out of this cave. Sure, he didn’t have his connection to the game and there were odd green crystals on his skin but it was fine. Not to mention that every passing second meant Moon’s minions were arriving closer to the area.

I can figure this out. He said aloud but his voice sounded small to his ears.

Steve had never given any thought to be trapped in the game of Minecraft. It had been silly to even think of such a thing. Nothing like that was possible…or so he thought.

But now, as he looked around the cave, he thought that perhaps he should have expected such a strange thing to occur. Hadn’t weird and crazy things always happened to him? It wasn’t as playing Minecraft had been ever normal.

But in the end, no matter what crazy things unfolded, there had always been a way around them. A way to make sure everyone was safe and the game was secure. This time was no different. Steve just needed to figure it out.

His eyes scanned the cave, falling on the crystals that were jutting out of the surface. He followed the crystals. They went up to the hole…

That was his way out. Ignoring how sore he was, Steve hurried over to the crystals. He grabbed onto the largest one that was growing out of the bottom of the cave and began to climb it. His hands reached out for the crystal above it on the wall and managed to get a grip on it.

Steve began to climb the crystals. They were slippery and it was hard to get a grip on them. He used his pickaxe, digging the tip into the crystal so that he could try to get a steady hold on them. Steve didn’t fear the crystals anymore. What would be the point? They had pulled him into this game. There was nothing more they could do to him.

But Herobrine, on the other hand, could still be affected. He was out there with Moon’s minions coming after him, lost in a field full of crystals.

Steve tried to reach the next crystal but it was smaller. It cracked off in his hand. He almost tripped and fell back to the cave floor but he managed to keep his grip on it. Holding his breath, Steve heaved himself onto the next large crystal. He was so close now. The hole he fell through was right in front of him.

Balancing on top of one of the crystals, he stretched out to grab onto the rim. His fingers brushed against it – and missed. He almost fell but caught his balance.
