Steve sat in his computer chair, staring across his room at the boy who had claimed to be Herobrine. Maybe he shouldn’t have let him come inside the house but how could he turn him away? With everything that had been going on, someone claiming to be Herobrine was too shocking to simply shut the door.

The boy was sitting at the edge of Steve’s bed. He kept running his fingers through his hair nervously. He had a backpack with him as if he had been traveling.

So, Steve said, breaking the silence, You’re Herobrine.

He nodded, It’s a long story.

It has to be a very long story because this entire time, I thought you were in the game. Some sort of glitch or something that had become self-aware. And now you’re sitting on my bed.

I wanted you to think that I was part of the game. It made it easier.

    And now?

Well, now the Circle is involved.

Steve crossed his arms, How do I know this is actually you?

I brought my laptop. I can log in and show you the game from my end so you will believe me. I can answer anything you ask about what we went through. The trials when we first met. Dealing with Scarlet Hero. Trying to stop Elena’s sister from ruining the game in the Snow Labyrinth. The return of the Scarlet Hero in the Oasis.

Steve drummed his fingers against his desk, Fine. Log in.

Herobrine nodded and pulled his laptop out of his bag. After a few minutes of waiting, the game booted up. Even the main menu was different. There were lines of code running across the screen instead of any sort of menus. Herobrine typed something and then the game was loading.

Why is your screen like that? I’ve never seen it that way.

Part of my connection to the game. Part of the fact that I was a member of the Circle. My game isn’t anything like what you play on. You’ll see.

And Steve did see. When Herobrine’s game loaded, it was the strangest thing he had seen in a long time. The game was constantly shifting and moving wherever Herobrine went. A simple command could create a new biome. He could walk on water and fly above the trees. He could control the day/night cycles and spawn creatures. It was as if Herobrine was in creative mode all the time, even in the main game. But the game was off color. Occasionally, there would be pixels glitching out or dark shapes in the distance.

What is this? This is how it is all the time? Steve asked curiously.

Herobrine nodded, "I don’t manipulate the game anymore since we discovered the Oasis. So, it has been slowly growing
