    Chapter One

The Ender Dragon roared at them again. The bridge vibrated under their feet. The rain was coming down so hard that Steve could barely see in front of him. Next to him, Elena was making a panicked noise.

The Ender Dragon’s second head turned to look at them while the first head looked upwards. Every creature they had found in this land had been twisted like this. All four of its wings were flapping as it stared down at them.

Uh, Steve, Elena said from behind, This isn’t good.

No, this isn’t good at all. Steve replied.

    Any plan?

    Run! He shouted.

The two of them took off and slid underneath the dragon’s legs. The dragon roared and spun around, swinging its tail to try to knock them off. Elena rolled underneath the swing, missing being struck. But Steve was a second too slow. The tail slammed into him and sent him flying across the bridge.

He toppled over the edge and managed to grip the railing with his fingers. Below, the ocean looked as dangerous as ever. The waves were big and could swallow him up. Not to mention that Steve had no idea what was underneath the water. All sorts of creatures could be there – or it could be a simple Game Over.

The dragon let out another mighty roar. It was hard to keep his grip on the bridge because the rain made it incredibly slippery. He had to pull himself up before it was too late.

One hand slipped and he gasped, trying to grab the side of the bridge. The dragon pressed on the bridge to take to the sky again. The bridge shuddered and Steve thought it would be just his luck for the entire thing to collapse right now.

It was just then that Elena’s head popped over the side. She grabbed his wrist and started to pull him up. Relieved to see her, Steve spilled over the edge and landed on the stone bridge.

We don’t have any time. That dragon is coming back around and he’ll attack for sure this time. Elena was saying as she pulled him to his feet.

    Thanks for coming back.

What? Of course I’m going to come back. We’re a team. Come on.

They took off running down the bridge. The mountain in front of them grew larger as they got closer. He glanced behind him and saw the dragon spiraling down the length of the bridge towards them.

    Elena, duck! He shrieked.

They both hit the ground of the bridge. The Ender Dragon swooped over them. It was inches from touching them. It let out another roar which made Steve’s ears ring as it turned back around to come from the front.

He’s trying to knock us off! Steve shouted at
