    Introduction

    There are many Characteristics that can be connected to almost each and every person, for example, Able each person is Able to do something.  It’s the unique Characteristics you want to seek out to make your character unique.  The very soul and reason for compiling this book.

    Characteristics

    Noun - A distinguishing feature or quality. Generosity is his chief characteristic. Personality Traits.

    A

    Adaptive Peacemaker  Enneagram  -  Body  -  They are asleep to their instinctual side, especially to their anger and are often not aware of their own voice and strength. See Enneagram Type Nine, Accommodating Mediator, Peacemaker, Personality Traits.

    Able To Work Alone   -  Ability to work alone, without supervision or guidance.

    Able  Neutral  -  Having necessary power, skill, resources, or qualifications; qualified. Able to lift a two-hundred-pound weight; able to write music; able to travel widely; able to vote.

    Abrasive  Negative  -  Tending to annoy or cause ill will; overly aggressive. An abrasive personality.

    Abrupt  Negative  -  Adjective  -  Speaking or acting in a way that seems unfriendly and rude; not taking time to say more than is necessary. If the person is like this all/most of the time, his personality, then it’s a characteristic trait. See Emotion Dictionary Abrupt.

    Absent-Minded  Neutral   -  So lost in thought that one does not realize what one is doing, what is happening, etc.; preoccupied to the extent of being unaware of one's immediate surroundings.

    Abusive  -  Using, containing, or characterized by harshly or coarsely insulting language.  An abusive author; abusive remarks. Treating badly or injuriously; mistreating, especially physically.  His abusive handling of the horse. Wrongly used; corrupt.  An abusive exercise of power.

    Accepting  -  Adjective  -  Amenable; open. She was always more accepting of coaching suggestions than her teammates.  It’s a characteristic, when someone is always/most of the time a willing and open kind of person.

    Accessible  Positive  -   Easy to approach, reach, enter, speak with, or use. That can be used, entered, reached, etc.:  An accessible road; accessible ruins. Obtainable; attainable:  Accessible evidence. Open to the influence of (usually followed by to).  Accessible to bribery.

    Accommodating  -  Adjective  -  Easy to deal with; eager to help or please; obliging. Willing to help; kind; obliging.

    Accommodating Mediator  Enneagram  -  Body  -  They are asleep to their instinctual side, especially to their anger and are often not aware of their own voice and strength. See Enneagram Type Nine, Adaptive Peacemaker, Peacemaker, Personality Trait.

    Accurate  -  Free from error or defect; consistent with a standard, rule, or model; precise; exact. Careful or meticulous.  An accurate typist.

    Active  Positive  -  Adjective  -  Tending to move around often; full of energy. It’s a characteristic trait if the person is always/most of the time full of energy and busy with anything. See Emotion Dictionary Active.

    Active Controller  Enneagram  -  Body  -  People shaped by this type appear forceful, decisive, and undefeatable, but they do so at the cost of closing themselves off from their own vulnerability. See Enneagram Type Eight. See Challenger. See Personality Trait.

    Adaptable  Positive  -  Adjective  -  Capable of being adapted. Able to adjust oneself readily to different conditions:  An adaptable person. Able to change or be changed in order to deal successfully with new situations. People who are adaptable can overcome change easily. It’s an characteristic trait if the person always finds themselves adapting very well with anything thrown at them. See Emotion Dictionary Adaptable.

    Adaptive  -  Serving or able to adapt; showing or contributing to adaptation. The adaptive colouring of a chameleon.

    Adept  -  Very skilled; proficient; expert. An adept juggler.

    Admirable  Positive  -  Worthy of admiration; inspiring approval, reverence, or affection. Excellent; first-rate.

    Adventurous  -  Energy, Sympathetic, Positive  -  Willing to take risks; likes new adventures & experiences. Willing to undertake new and daring enterprises. People who are adventurous seek out the fun in life. They love to try something new. Sometimes an act that others would find scary. Adventurous people love to travel and try new foods at a restaurant.

    Adventuresome  -  Bold; daring; adventurous.

    Advocate  Character, Personality & Characteristics, Role, Fictional Visionaries  -  Are introspective, values-oriented, inspiring, social and extremely expressive. They actively send their thoughts and ideas out into the world as a way to bring attention to what they feel to be important, which often has to do with ethics and current events. ENFPs are natural advocates.

    Affable  -  Easy to talk to; friendly; pleasant. Pleasantly easy to approach and to talk to; friendly; cordial; warmly polite. An affable and courteous gentleman.

    Affectionate  Loving  -  Showing affection; tender; loving. Having or displaying warmth or affection. If you like to snuggle up next to someone, then you are affectionate. See Emotion Dictionary Affectionate, Affection.

    Affirming  -  To state or assert positively; maintain as true:  To affirm one's loyalty to one's country; He affirmed that all was well. To confirm or ratify. The appellate court affirmed the judgment of the lower court. To assert solemnly. He affirmed his innocence. To express agreement with or commitment to; uphold; support. To affirm human rights.

    Afraid  -  Filled with fear; fearful.  See Emotions Dictionary Afraid

    Aggressive  Neutral, Negative  -  Adjective  -  Characterized by or tending toward unprovoked offensives, attacks, invasions, or the like; militantly forward or menacing. Aggressive acts against a neighbouring country. Making an all-out effort to win or succeed; competitive. An aggressive basketball player. Vigorously energetic, especially in the use of initiative and forcefulness. An aggressive salesperson. Boldly assertive and forward; pushy. An aggressive driver. Emphasizing maximum growth and capital gains over quality, security, and income.  An aggressive mutual fund.  See Emotion Dictionary Aggressive.

    Agonizing  Negative  -  Accompanied by, filled with, or resulting in agony or distress. We spent an agonizing hour waiting to hear if the accident had been serious or not.

    Agreeable  Positive  -  Adjective  -  To one's liking; pleasing:  Agreeable manners; an agreeable sensation. Willing or ready to agree or consent.  Are you agreeable to my plans for Saturday?  Suitable; conformable (usually followed by to).  Practice agreeable to theory.

    Agreeableness  Five-Factor Model  -  High  -  Quickly and confidently asserts own rights; irritable; manipulative; uncooperative; rude.  -  Low  -  Agrees with others about political opinions; good-natured; forgiving; gullible; helpful; forgiving.

    The tendency to agree and go along with others rather than to assert one's own opinions and choices. See Personality Traits.

    Aimless  Negative  -  Without aim; purposeless.

    Alert  Positive  -  Fully aware and attentive; wide-awake; keen.  An alert mind. Swift; agile; nimble.

    Alexithymia  -  The inability to recognize and label emotions in oneself. The individual also has a difficult time recognizing emotions in others, and often has difficulties in relationships. See Personality Traits.

    Alien  Normality, Negative, Flaws  -  Residing under a government or in a country other than that of one's birth without having or obtaining the status of citizenship there. Belonging or relating to aliens:  Alien property.

    Unlike one's own; strange; not belonging to one.  Alien speech. Adverse; hostile; opposed (usually followed by to or from).  Ideas alien to modern thinking.

    Alluring  -  Very attractive or tempting; enticing; seductive. Fascinating; charming.

    Aloof  Negative   -  At a distance, especially in feeling or interest; apart. They always stood aloof from their classmates.

    Altruistic  -  Unselfishly concerned for or devoted to the welfare of others (opposed to egoistic).

    Ambitious  Neutral  -  Eager to succeed, full of desire. Having ambition; eagerly desirous of achieving or obtaining success, power, wealth, a specific goal, etc. Ambitious students. Showing or caused by ambition or an earnest desire for achievement or distinction.  An ambitious attempt to break the record for number of wins in a single season. Strongly desirous; eager. Ambitious of love and approval. Requiring exceptional effort, ability, etc.:  The candidate is proposing an ambitious program for eliminating all slums. Having a strong desire for success or achievement. Ambitious people try to get ahead in life. They look for opportunities to better their life. For the most part, this has a positive feeling, but in some people, ambition is too strong, and they hurt people along the way to get what they want.

    Amiable  Positive  -  Friendly; good natured. Diffusing warmth and friendliness. Amiable people are affable. They are kind, warm and friendly.

    Amoral  Negative  -  Not involving questions of right or wrong; without moral quality; neither moral nor immoral. Having no moral standards, restraints, or principles; unaware of or indifferent to questions of right or wrong:  A completely amoral person.

    Amusing  Neutral  -  Pleasantly entertaining or diverting:  An amusing speaker. Causing laughter or mirth; humorously entertaining.  An amusing joke.

    Analytical  Positive  -  Skilled in or habitually using analysis.

    Angry  Negative  -  Feeling or showing anger. Feeling or showing anger or strong resentment (usually followed by at, with, or about). To be angry at the dean; to be angry about the snub. See Emotion Dictionary Anger.

    Animated  -  Lively; moving in an energetic, lifelike way. See Emotion Dictionary Animated.

    Annoying  -  Troublesome or irritating. Causing annoyance; irritatingly bothersome: Annoying delays.

    Anticipative  Positive  -   Anticipating or tending to anticipate; expressing, revealing, or containing anticipation:  An anticipative action; an anticipative look.

    Anti-Social  Negative  -  Unwilling or unable to associate in a normal or friendly way with other people. He's not antisocial, just shy. Antagonistic, hostile, or unfriendly toward others; menacing; threatening:  An
