Positive Affirmation for Black Women - Aliyah Musa
What are positive affirmations?
Our mind is fascinating , and we are not yet aware of their possibilities. Many thoughts crowd our minds, but unfortunately, most of our thoughts are negative. However, there is a way out of getting around your negative inner monologue: positive affirmations.
Thoughts and words represent a statement that crosses your mind every day. In this book, I'll explain how and why to use the power of words.
Every thought you make, every word you say in a statement. Why don't you just choose positive affirmations to create a fulfilling life?
.
The power of words
Words have enormous importance in our lives. Imagine your mind as a garden and the word as a seed; you can grow flowers or weeds, depending on how you use it.Caroline Myss, an American writer, writes that today our neuro-biology
is toxic. Everything we think is negative translates into negative biochemical signals that have a negative effect on both our body and our mind. In addition, psychologists confirm that 80% of our daily thoughts are repetitive and 90% of them are negative. These two facts give us an idea of the use we make of our thoughts and words. The good news is that you can now become more aware of this aspect.
How to use positive affirmations
Positive affirmations have the dual function of translating into positive biochemical signals for your body and informing your unconscious. Choosing a conscious language opens new doors to your unconscious, where it is not thoughts and words that control you, but you managethem. The result is to let new talents emerge and potentialities that allow you to experience new and fulfilling things in your inner and, consequently, outer life. You will findthat you are more open and receptive to uniqueaspects and find new solutions that you may never have thought of before.
You can use positive affirmations by repeating them several times during the day, setting them together with the phone alarm at different times, writing them on your PC's desktop, or leaving post-its around the house or on the desk where you work. There are tons of ways to use them, as long as you don't forget to!
In my work, I have realized how necessary good nourishment of the body is an ecology of the mind. Too often, we live immersed in automatisms. There is also an incessant mental chatter that has enormous power on our psychophysical well-being and, more generally, in our life. I have started using positive affirmations about myself and in my counseling with success. Today, I can understand the limitations a person experiences and guide them to implement positive changes from the words they use to describe their situation.
How positive affirmations are written
Write a positive affirmation
Positive affirmations are nothing more than motivational, inspirational phrases that give confidence, increase self-esteem, and produce high emotions and vibrations. An affirmative sentence to be considered as such must meet the following requirements:
Be short, clear, precise, and in line with your goal.
Be formulated using the present tense.
Do not contain the negation not
and not even all the other negative meanings as I am unlucky, I am worried, I feel bad, I am tired, etc.
Contain positive and empowering emotions and feelings.
The best way to create a positive statement is to use this sentence pattern:I deserve.., I am grateful for/ why.., I feel.., I am.., My job is..., My life is..., My body is..., My health is..., My relationship is..., and so on.
The sentence must be short to be memorized more easily. If you choose or create one for too long, you'll have difficulty remembering it and may let go before starting. On the other hand, if it is short, concise but at the same time it goes straight to the point, it is perfect because it contains everything you need. The more precise it is, the more you feel it, and it is easier for you to identify yourself and perceive the sensations it arouses in you.
The present tense is used for the simple fact that it is more accurate. Referring to something that looks to the future and has not yet happened makes it distant and unattainable. Using the present tense, on the contrary, makes it real precisely in the here and now. Let's take an example. Read the following two positive affirmations:
I will be happy when I manage to do the handstand.
Every day that passes, I train my body with joy to reach the handstand position on the head.
I know I picked a bit of an extreme example, but let me explain. Do the handstand is your goal, but what if your body does not allow you to achieve it for a physical or mental reason? The best way to approach this eventuality is to enjoy the journey. This is also true in other areas: family, work, economics, couples. Most of the time, we take it for granted that once we reach that goal or that milestone, we will be happy, we will feel strong, unbeatable, wealthy, famous, satisfied, etc.
How about coming back with the ground under our feet and lowering those expectations at least a little? Is it possible that we set ourselves such ambitious goals every day? I'm not saying you shouldn't have them or aim high, but scale them for a moment, yes! Set yourself smaller, short-term goals that you are confident you can achieve and accomplish;by doing so, you lower your stress levels and enjoy the whole process without too much effort.
Negative thoughts hinder your growth
How our brain works
Do you know when they tell you don't think about a pink elephant? So what are you thinking about? Pink elephant, but how is that possible?Since our brain does not conceive of the denial not,
the opposite of what we do not want happens.
Many of our negative thoughts derive from our frustration, anxiety, and concern aboutnot being able to achieve the goals we have set and set ourselves. Here then, we begin to take over thoughts such as: I'm not okay with one,
They all happen to me,
We just needed this,
From this to worse,
and so on. Again, I think the concept is clear.
I want you to understand that where your mind goes, your energy goes, and the more you feed the negative thoughts, the more they will become stronger and more obsessive. The good news is that we can change and reverse course, turning everything in our favor using positive affirmations.
Why use can instead of, I have to
We try to do something most of the time, telling ourselves: I have to do this, go to that place, and finish that job. But, have you noticed that there is always that MUST in front of everything? It is a very used verb and has a power that makes a difference;it is full of expectations, pressure, anxiety, and stress. So, replace the must with the word I can.
I can do everything in the time I have at my disposal
doesn't it sound good? It seems to me so. All those times you think: I never have enough time,
repeat the phrase I suggested above. Transforming all recurring words and thoughts into a positive key is therapeutic and will give you strong charge and enthusiasm.
An easy and effective exercise to familiarize yourself with positive affirmations
How to use negative thoughts to create positive affirmations
But now, after so much theory, how about moving on to practice? I bet you were looking forward to an excellent exercise to practice what they have learned so far. So here are the tools you need to transform and create your top 5 positive affirmations. First, get a sheet of paper, a notebook, or a spreadsheet on your PC. Divide it into two columns;in the one on the left, write negative thoughts at the top, while in the one on the right, write positive affirmations. Now write down the first fivenegative thoughts you formulate most frequently. Next, you have to go to the right column and transform them by writing them in a positive key.
Since I'm good, I want to give you another easy and simple example:
Whether you think you are capable or not, you will be right.
-Henry Ford-
Now that you understand how it works, you have everything you need to transform and create fiveawesome new positive affirmations to use and repeat.
An easy way to create positive affirmations
cambia il tuo mindsetCREATE YOUR POSITIVE affirmation
I'm not good enough
I can not do it.
I'm not flexible.
I'm not able.
I am always tired.
I can not make it.
I don't think I'm going to make it.
You have probably already repeated these negative statements several times and various occasions. They have in common that you truly believe in them, but they are limiting beliefs. Your experience can dictate them, beliefs handed down to you by your parents, friends, school, and mass media. Day after day, the inner repetition of these affirmations hassettled and solidified, so much so that you will never even have questioned them. But this is precisely the problem if you want to change something, you have to think and act differently. If you keep telling yourself that you are tired, you can hardly feel active and
