    PREVIEW

    Dear reader,

It makes me so happy to see, that this book has found its way into your hands. My intention for this work is to raise awareness about topics our society doesn’t really want to talk about. Because if we don’t know what’s going on, or how our daily choices affect the whole planet, we can’t change anything.

If we want to fight our shadow, we must first know that we’re having a shadow to fight, in the first place.

Our shadows, the shadows of our society, are constant distractions, and strategies making us believe, that we aren’t good enough; it’s the closing of our eyes to the things we don’t want to see, so that we don’t have to change our habits, or leave our comfort zone; the missing connection to our bodies, and our intuition, that are leading to grand misunderstandings in the world, because we don’t hear our inner guides; areas of desserts, where lush rainforests used to grow; the lack of respect towards ourselves, other humans, animals, other life forms, and nature.

Our society has become comfortable with sickness. Illness, or some kind of physical discomfort, is the normal state for most people. Real health is only being felt, and experienced by a few of us, even though health and vitality are our birthright, and our natural state of being. Taking pills has become a regular part of the day, like brushing our teeth. People get sick multiple times a year. This is being perceived as normal. If someone barely, or never gets sick, he’s being judged as a health-freak, or weird/unnatural. During winter time, people are already waiting to get the flu, or a cold. Sickness, of any kind, has become an active part of the lives of many people.

Unhealthy food is being seen as a reward, and eating healthy is being perceived as a restriction. People smoke, drink, and eat way too much unhealthy foods with the excuse of wanting to enjoy their lives. But let me ask you this: Do you really enjoy the hangover the next morning? Do you really enjoy lying on the couch with an overloaded tummy, unable to move, instead of using that time to play with your children, or walk your dog? Do you enjoy the coughing, and your dry throat from smoking all those cigarettes?

To me, this doesn’t sound like enjoying life at all. I enjoy my life when I’m out in nature, breathing in the fresh air, and moving my body. I enjoy my life when I’m eating healthy, feeling better, and stronger every day, and when I’m treating myself with going out for dinner every once in a while; because then, I can fully appreciate, and enjoy it. If I regularly ate something very sweet, or fatty, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it as much, or at all. I enjoy my life when I’m relaxing in the tub, meeting with friends, meditating, expressing my creativity, travelling to new places, and exploring foreign countries, and their culture.

Of course, enjoying life has a different meaning to everybody. But what we all need in order to enjoy this life to the fullest is a healthy, and strong body, that supports us on every step of the way. If your body doesn’t work properly, you feel pain, or have a cluttered, noisy mind, you will never be able to experience the full spectrum of the beauty, that this world is offering you. You will constantly be distracted by your aching body, or your loud mind.

I am sharing some exercises and techniques with you in this book. I’m inviting you to try all exercises, and practices, that feel right to you, but also the ones, that make you feel a little unsure, or nervous, because we learn and grow the most through challenging ourselves, and trying something new. Dive into a world full of beauty, abundance, and life with me! Gain a new level of physical vitality, mental clarity, and inspiration!

I am inviting you to try a new diet, or much more, a lifestyle, that has the potential to change many areas of your life to the better!

I am inviting you to see this world from a new perspective; with new eyes. Be curious, ask questions, and question EVERYTHING. Be like a child, which always wants to learn new things, and constantly asks, Why? Why? Why?. Be excited to explore the miracles, that are waiting for you behind every corner; get ready to receive them, and you will never have a boring, or mediocre day in your life ever again, because with this mindset every day is an adventure!

I am inviting you to rediscover your creativity! What did you love doing as a child? What used to bring you joy? Rediscover old passions, or find new ones - something you can look forward to, that excites, and inspires you; something that helps you see yourself in a new way, and that shows you the abundance, and beauty of this world, that we are so lucky to call our home; something that makes you feel grateful to be alive.

    And now, dear reader,

I wish you a blissful and inspiring time with this book, and all the best for your new, healthier, and more positive way of living!

    With love, and gratitude,

    Jenny

    CHAPTER 1

Mental Health – A loving Guide to Happiness

Give every day the chance to become the best day of your life.

    - Unknown

Anyone, who keeps the ability to see the beauty

in all things, will never grow old.

    - Franz Kafka

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines mental health this way:

A mentally healthy person can use his or her abilities, cope with normal life demands, work productively, and contribute to his or her community.) (WHO 2004)¹

For me, mental health means to be able to see the good in every day and to enjoy the little things in life, like the blue sky, the warmth of the sun on your skin, the singing of the birds, someone refilling your empty cup without you asking them to, etc. It means to not be trapped in a negative downward spiral of thoughts. Every day provides us with miracles and wonders. Mental health enables us to recognize them with joy and be grateful for them.

Your mental and physical health are connected. If you feel pain in your body, it doesn’t feel good. It makes you uncomfortable, and, of course, this has a negative effect on your mood. In return, your worries and stress can impact your physical body negatively. Stomachache, headache, a stuffy nose, constipation and diarrhea can all be ways of your body communicating a mental issue that needs healing. It is all connected. We are energetic beings consisting of body and soul. Our energetic bodies are directly connected to our physical bodies. They impact each other. If you want to be physically healthy, you also need to take care of your soul and your energetic being, your mental health.

How can we improve our mental clarity and get to a healthy balance in our bodies and minds? I want to share with you my personal treasures that have helped me tremendously to gain constant mental health and clarity. But before we get into them, you should know what is required of you.

You must have motivation. Before you can reach a level of complete mental clarity, you need to be motivated to do whatever it takes to get there and break free from the situation you are stuck in. Without motivation, you will not be successful. You have to really want it with every fiber of your being. Knowing the reason behind your decision can be very helpful during times your motivation seems to have disappeared. This applies to every area of life. So, ask yourself, Why do I want … ? I recommend writing your answers down. This way, you can always come back to them whenever you want or need.

You need bravery. You should also be aware of the fact that a lot of bravery, willpower, strength and endurance will be asked from you. Chances are that your life will change completely. The way you see the world and yourself will change. You need to be brave in order to embark on such a journey.

But we both know that you are ready and strong enough to face every challenge and obstacle that will come your way. Holding this book in your hands is proof enough of that. It found you for a reason. You have everything you need within yourself. You already are the person you want to be; you are just not fully aware of it yet. We’re all divine beings that came to this earth for a short period of time to experience ourselves in human form and in a world of time and duality. We want to make human experiences. Our souls want to grow, expand, and learn new things. This is why we are here in our human suits. But our true selves always stay the same. The fabric we are made of
