    Preventing punishment of innocent

The next morning while everyone was having breakfast, Aqua Marine and Merth got up and stood in front of the guardian rings. There was immediately silence and everyone except Xaos and the humans stood. Xaos being higher rank then them had right not to stand. Aqua Marine and Merth vanished. No one sat.

Ten minutes later Aqua Marine and Merth were back. They both struck their staffs down hard, only those that had right to rule could remove them, and placed all leadership items with the staff; except the rings.

They went over to Xaos and said Queen Xaos, you know who we chose.

They placed the rings down and left the room. The Mers and water sphinx panicked.

Xaos said loudly Be still. They have not left you without protection. The humans and I will leave now.

She picked up the rings as she was talking. The highest council members for Aqua Marine and Merth went with Xaos and the humans to Xaos’ home. The council talked then left.

After they were gone Xaos said to Ann Ann, these are gifts for your twins.

She held out the rings and continued please take them. With these the twins will have right to rule the Mers and Water sphinx.

Ann asked why would they obey humans?

Xaos said Your twins are not human anymore, they gained magic. Merth and Aqua Marine gave them rights as if they were heirs.

Ann asked What if your friends did not make my twins their heirs?

Xaos replied please do not ask.

Ann said If you respect me please tell me.

Xaos said for a human to gain magic without permission and not to be considered an heir to the one they gained the magic from would be… It would be their death. Merth and Aqua Marine chose not to let your twins be punished for my mistake. I would not have taken you there if I realized that you were with child.

She continued More over to be around me would be dangerous for their safety and you having been so kind to me I would have left only a note that would say that I went home and not to try to find me, as much as I love your son I would have returned here without him. I would have to either deal with missing him or deal without magic. I do not know how to do either.

Ann accepted the rings and promised to give them to her twins. When they were born she kept that promise and then on suggestion of the guardians had them hidden away from her, she hated to let her daughters go but wanted them to be safe. That is why all magics that lived among the non magics hid their children away from them -to keep the children safe.

In the meantime Xaos and Joseph had gotten married and unknown to everyone had a daughter themselves, Xaos called her daughter Sam. Ann had named her twins Star and Lisa.

After seven years a girl was sitting alone, this was Xaos’ daughter, Sam. A prince was taking a walk, he was by himself and about eight. He saw that she was dressed as a fighter and decided to see how good she was and challenged her to a friendly match. She won. He asked if she would give him a rematch. She laughed and said whenever he wanted.

The next day while ridding with his parents they all saw two girls fighting each other. These girls were the twins Star and Lisa. The king asked what he assumed were their parents Why do your girls fight each other?

The woman replied Sire they always do, and afterwards they both come in laughing. I once asked them why they fought each other. They replied we don’t, we train. We must get good. When I asked them why they ignored me and went outside and fought again.

The prince said I enjoy friendly competition, think they would fight against me?

Star had came in for a drink and heard him ask. She replied We would win.

The woman replied that was rude Star.

Star said Forgive me. I know me and I know my twin. We know our strength and I know we would win.

Star went back out side and talked with her twin. They both were laughing as he came out, his parents following.

Lisa asked Should we take pity on him or go all out?

Star replied He has no idea how good we are. I think we need to take pity on him and make things difficult for us.

He said "No need to take things easy on me, lets
