What is the Paleo Diet?
The paleo (or paleolithic) diet is rich in vegetables, fruits and nuts, all of which are elements of a health and balanced diet. The main difference between the paleo diet and other healthy eating plans for weight loss is the absence of whole grains and legumes, sources of foods that are rich in fiber.
A variety of studies over the years have compared the paleo diet to others such as the Mediterranean diet, diabetes diet, whole foods diet and others, these studies concluded that the paleo diet offers benefits to a person’s health that include heart health, lower blood pressure, lower triglycerides and other medical and overall health benefits.
The foods that are suggested to be primarily consumed on the paleo diet are not only considered healthy and beneficial as part of a balanced diet but, more affordable and easily accessible for most people.
The paleo diet is an easy-to-follow weight loss and healthy eating diet that resembles what human hunter-gatherers used to eat thousands of years ago.
