Hi, I’m Dylan. This book is about me. Before you start reading it, I want you to know – this is not a superhero story. The title sounds like it’s going to be a superhero story, but it’s not. Superheroes are not real. This story is about me and I’m a real person. Well, I’m a fictional character because Nick made me up. But I’m a real – fictional person.

I do grow stronger, faster, and smarter. My ability to attract members of the opposite sex grows dramatically. Also, my memory, strength, reflexes, speed, and stamina all increase exponentially. My virility and sexual endurance are impressive, and...oh, forget it. It’s kind of a superhero story. Bullets don’t bounce off me and I can’t fly or anything. But it’s still a lot of fun. There are some hot girls, bad guys, violence, intrigue, revenge, romance, lots of sex, feats of strength, and HOT GIRLS. So, if you forget about the superhero crap, I’ll tell you what happened.

SOME NEW STUFF:
The whole ‘Dylan ends up in the hospital’ might sound scary to you. It is. After I thought about how I’m the one telling the story, I realized that if I kept a diary or journal (which all the shrinks say is good for you), then maybe I’m not telling the story - maybe someone is using what I wrote about myself and they’re telling the story. I don’t know about you, but that part freaks me out.

In this installment, there’s good news and bad news. There are a couple of moments that are scary and worry the hell out of me. But there are others that are so touching I lost it. I’m secure enough in my masculinity to say I got a little misty. Okay, I almost cried. Little things snowball and have a huge impact on not only me but the others. Along the way, you’ll learn more about the origin of every character. By the way, that’s why this series is called Origins. It’s not just my origin story, it’s also has the origin story for all the other characters too.

This book contains graphic language and explicit descriptions of sexual activity. Not suitable for minors.

A diverse blend of music floated through the rooms of Nick Foxx’s house as he grew up. His family listened to and played blues, jazz, folk, gospel, country, rock’n’roll and classical music and they all fascinated him. Late in the night, he’d sit with his father and grandfather while they told stories and sang their favorites.Professors and artists mingled with ranchers and farmers around picnic tables in Nick's backyard to enjoy fried fish, barbecue, and good music as the neighborhood children chased fireflies in the twilight. The music he heard filled his head with dreams of being a professional musician. He played at local dances, clubs, and bars before he could drive. By twenty-one, he had performed for crowds of thousands, heard himself on the radio, and sang on live TV. His music has been used in advertising, film, television, theater, and played in concert halls. Records he worked on decorate the walls of his office and home.Nick began publishing ebooks in 2008 with Anonymous Publishing. While writing under the pen name, Nicky Faulkes, Nick’s work “The Time Of My Life” won the Earth Day Story Contest on Literotica.com and gained him the praise of peers. It encouraged him to keep writing and telling stories.Nick is a semi-retired composer and musician, happily married for over twenty years to a beautiful, loving woman who is the love of his life. Nick’s stories are a blend of his personal experiences and fantasies that merge to bring genuine, relatable characters and engaging tales to the page. Chapter One

Rafferty was preoccupied by the coffee he nursed while he brooded. He had quickly become a fixture in our lives as he prepared each of us to testify. He told us what kind of questions we’d be asked in court. He told us how to address everyone and said something I’ll never forget. What they don’t teach in law school is that procedure is as important as proof, if not more.

The lawsuit was stressful and time-consuming for all of us. And even Rafferty working on contingency, it might prove to be costly. My parents would be forced to take time off from work and both Charly and I might have to miss classes. On top of all that, the court could force us to pay for the other side’s legal fees if we lost. It could bankrupt my family. But Jason said the opposition was counting on that fact to scare us. To avoid my parents any burden, I made sure my name was the only one on the paperwork. I made sure Rafferty kept that little detail private and trusted our attorney-client privlege.

If the judge sent my case to arbitration, it was going to be a different picture. Arbitration could be more casual, but we still had to be ready to be questioned. If we didn’t go to court, we couldn’t play on a jury’s sympathy and it was possible I could walk away with virtually nothing by comparison. I might end up with nothing more than free health care and life insurance from the company that fucked up my life to begin with.

Mr. Rafferty reminded us, The company includes the clinic, the doctor, and the insurance company. They saw the news. They are going to use it against you when we go to court. They say if you’re strong and healthy enough to fight off all those guys by yourself…

    I didn’t fight off… I interjected

I know. And I told them if they made false claim like that in court, they’d be disbarred and they know it. Then, I made sure they understood what they were up against if we go to court now.

What do you mean? asked Dad.

"I told them that I had no problem putting a hero on the stand to testify against a greedy corporation with their fingers in every part of
