Chapter One

With every step she took, the front left wheel of Tara’s cart squeaked. Every time it squeaked, it pissed her off a bit more. ‘That bitch, Susan, always clocks in first to grab the good cart,’ Tara thought. As she pushed her cart and glared at the wheel, she tried to will it to roll smoothly and silently over the plush hall carpet, but it didn’t work. If she had been watching where she was going, her life would’ve stayed exactly the same and every day would have been a battle with that squeaky wheel. But that irritation was about to change everything. As she focused on the wheel, a guest came around the corner and almost slammed into her. Tara swerved and the man jumped back. They avoided a collision by mere inches. Sorry, Sir, she aplogized.
