Prologue

Jerry followed Adam, Petra, Olivia, and Opal down the courthouse hall. As always, she saw Adam and her heart skipped a beat. Her mind was a jumble and she was filled with the desire to please him in every way. Her prodigious breasts rose and fell when she took a breath to calm down. She almost got it together. Then, he smiled at her and gave her a peck on the cheek. In their past interactions, he had always been aloof and professional but he was different somehow. He held her hands and kissed her cheek again and said, Jerry, thank you for keeping the business running smoothly. I couldn’t make it without you. You’re so…you’re perfect.

The jumble threatened to overwhelm her again. She pushed her feelings down, smiled, and told him, It’s my pleasure, Sir. Adam pulled her in for a hug and Jerry breathed in his scent, felt the strength in his arms. His embrace left her damp with desire. As they parted, she glanced over his shoulder at the District Attorney’s team of lawyers and paled. The DA led the gaggle into court. The alluring slim figure wrapped in a light grey jacket and pencil skirt was Adam’s ex-Leda. She was hard to miss in the sea of somber men in dark suits. Jerry couldn’t find the words to tell Adam before he was gone and the crowd around him swarmed into court for the arraignment.

‘I’ve got to warn him,’ thought Jerry. She tried to reach him and pull him aside but she couldn’t without making a scene. She had to watch and wait for the right moment. She wanted to help Adam and alert him that Leda was there. Jerry didn’t know how Adam felt about Leda after all this time. As Jerry took her seat, she wondered how did Leda Jacobs end up in court with them and how would Adam react?

Chapter One

Light from the street below reflected off mirrored windows across the avenue and onto the bed. The slap of wet flesh and gasping breath rang out as the stanger pounded into Leda from behind. An ominous shadow was cast on the headboard and wall in front of her. But Leda wasn’t worried. He wasn’t a threat to her. He wasn’t intimidating or menacing.
