Heather Beck is a Canadian Author and Screenwriter who began writing professionally at the age of sixteen. Since then she has written eleven well-reviewed books, including the best-selling series, The Horror Diaries, which has sold in six continents. Heather received an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from university where she specialized in English and studied an array of disciplines. Currently, she is working on the Frostbitten series and has two anthologies slated for publication. As a screenwriter, Heather has multiple television shows and movies in development. Her short films include: Young Eyes, The Rarity, Too Sensible For Love, Circular, and the forthcoming Witch’s Brew. Besides writing, Heather’s greatest passion is the outdoors.     We’ve got quite an addition to our class, Mrs. Waybourne said in a friendly, yet slightly confused tone.

    Sixteen-year-old Bridget Rye looked up to see four girls standing at the front of the classroom with Mrs. Waybourne.

    I wonder why the principal is putting so many students in our class, Lauren Weller, Bridget’s best friend, whispered. It’s weird.

    Bridget nodded as she continued to stare at the girls. She found them to be odd and almost creepy, but she couldn’t figure out why she felt that way.

    This is Holly, Poppy, Jasmine and Primrose Walker, Mrs. Waybourne introduced the sisters. They’ve just transferred from... she paused briefly. What school did you say you were from?

    We didn’t, Primrose, the smallest of the four sisters, said.

    Holly, the tallest sister, shot Primrose a warning glance and then smiled at Mrs. Waybourne. Where should we sit? she asked, changing the topic quickly.

    We’ll need to make seating arrangements, Mrs. Waybourne replied, obviously unprepared for the new students. Bridget, Lauren, would you mind taking the Walkers to the janitor’s office? Tell him we need four more desks and chairs.

    Yes, Mrs. Waybourne, Lauren said as she stood up obediently.

    Bridget suppressed the urge to roll her eyes. Lauren, the most polite student in the school, was always chosen to do tasks for teachers. Since Bridget was always with Lauren, she was called upon when the chore required two people.

    Bridget stood up with less enthusiasm than Lauren and walked towards the door. She stopped suddenly when she heard the class burst into laughter.

    Are they laughing at me? Bridget wondered as she turned around. She was relieved to see that no one was paying attention to her.
