Black Magic Wish - Heather Beck
Today was amazing,
Jamie Banks said happily, as she followed her parents into their house. Thank you so much.
It’s your birthday and you deserve it,
Mr. Banks replied, while affectionately stroking Jamie’s hair.
Yes,
Mrs. Banks agreed. Turning thirteen is a big deal.
It doesn’t seem like a big deal to me,

You should go to bed, Jamie,
Mr. Banks suggested. After all, you have school tomorrow.
Alright,
Jamie said, before walking towards the staircase which led to her bedroom. Goodnight.
After Jamie had exited the room, Mr. and Mrs. Banks stood silently. They looked at each other with worry in their eyes.
Do you think we did the right thing?
Mrs. Banks asked, finally breaking the silence.
Does it really matter what I think?
Mr. Banks replied. We made the decision thirteen years ago. There’s no going back now.
Everything will be all right, won’t it, Sam?
Mrs. Banks asked, as she grasped her husband tightly.
Mr. Bank’s expression softened as he embraced his wife. "We were very young and naive when we made the decision to have
