Heather Beck is a Canadian Author and Screenwriter who began writing professionally at the age of sixteen. Since then she has written eleven well-reviewed books, including the best-selling series, The Horror Diaries, which has sold in six continents. Heather received an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from university where she specialized in English and studied an array of disciplines.     This is going to be an amazing trip! Brandon Wilkinson exclaimed to his best friend, Ellie Seater.

    I guess it’ll be alright, Ellie replied, wrinkling her nose. But I wouldn’t get my hopes up, if I were you. Remember, it’s just a museum.

    "Not a museum, Brandon corrected. It’s the Ultimate Medieval Museum!"

    Yeah, I know. It’s sure to excite your kids as well as educate them, she added, mimicking the Ultimate Medieval Museum commercial.

    Don’t you ever get excited about anything? Brandon asked, rolling his eyes at Ellie.

    I was excited when my father had our Olympic-size pool installed last year. Although she didn’t show it, Ellie really was excited to see the museum. She was honored that her class would be the first to tour it since Mr. Snow, the tenth grade history teacher, knew the museum manager and had convinced her to let his class see the exhibits before they opened to the public.

    Ellie had been to a lot of museums from all around the world. Her father, the CEO of a large company, was very enthusiastic about museums. He always said knowledge was the key to success and that it was gained when one traveled the world. 

    Have you read the brochure Mr. Snow gave us? Brandon asked Ellie.

    No, she answered, finally looking at the rolled up brochure in her hand. She unrolled it, stared at the front page, and then shivered.

    Staring back at her was the ugliest joker she’d ever seen. The joker was tall, thin and had a white face. Its red lips looked like they’d been dipped in blood. The joker’s eyes were just as scary as its lips. One eye was red while the other was black. A red diamond shape was drawn around the joker’s black eye. The opposite was true for its other eye. The joker wore a tight fitting outfit; half of the outfit
