About this audiobook

Fire and Water don’t mix.

Sophia

I’m Sophia Henley, your typical college freshman. I never expected a lion to be stalking me, nor for fire to come shooting out of my hands to protect my sister. Next thing I know, a drop-dead gorgeous guy shows up on my doorstep to sweep me away to a magical school, where I’ll learn to control my element and bond with a powerful creature called a Familiar.

I don’t believe I’m the savior of an ancient tribe, or the missing piece of a prophecy that’s more myth than reality. Worst of all, I’m forced to enter the Elemental Cup, where I’ll either earn my place in this society… or die trying.

Liam

The night I met Sophia, I didn’t think we’d form an undeniable connection. But I’m from the Water tribe, and she’s fire. I’m forced to push her away even as I’m falling for her.

I lost everything, yet Sophia makes me whole again. Our world is fixed on keeping us apart, but we’re in this tournament together. We have to keep each other alive at any cost— or I’ll give my life for hers.

It’s pretty clear. If I continue to play with fire, I’m going to get burned.

It started out pretty great, but Liam is so negative and annoying and Sofia keeping everything secret from Liam is so annoying and makes no sense. Shes also so childish

Pretty good. Series has promised. But I mean it's basically a whirlwind of plagiarism. It's a combination of Harry Potter, hunger games,, and the Last Airbender... They even go to magic school in a castle with a Dumbledore-esk head master and a professor just like snape.... should be a good read if you don't mind the fact it's only vaguely original

Loved this book! The characters and story are well developed. Everything flowed well, was believable, and I couldn't stop listening. It is a lot like The Last Airbender meets Harry Potter but the author managed to make it new and exciting anyway.

A magical universe, creatures and adventures, secrets and scandals- all very exciting! Except that I found the child-ish nature of the story watered everything down. With life threatening trials, you expect a big climax only to find out their "problem" is over a melodramatic secret... Feels like high school with random f-bombs and juvenile insecurities.

There are a lot of familiar concepts in this book- bits and pieces that will remind you of other books you have read but I feel like they did a pretty good job at using the familiarities to bring you into their universe. It's predictable and immature but I did enjoy the characters and their creatures.

So far I'm very intrigued and I do not realize and I do know that many people are suffering from many diseases even here in the United States as well as the world and many of the diseases there is no cure even though we are searching for it but the cure just doesn't seem to be found but thank you for bringing that out thank you for such a good involved story thank you for the readers both of them are doing a fine job and that's something that I don't often say or believe so thank you for the book continue writing continue believing in what you're writing

I think the story line is amazing but what I love the most is, the light shine on the medical part. "Invisible disease" goes unnoticed so much. Ofc, if I didn't experience it for myself I would literally look at myself and see nothing wrong. #myositis

For the most part, I really enjoyed this book series, the world that's created is really intriguing. Some of the reviewers criticise it saying the school is in a castle and so must be stolen from Harry Potter but NEWS FLASH! look at all the real world prestigious schools around the world, many are in castles, mansions and churches, it's not unique to Potter.

I liked the main female character as she is kind and does her best to learn and improve herself for her sake and for her friends and family. She's a good person but the main male character is a complete arsehole 90% of the time. I get he has a disability but so do I, It doesn't give you the right to treat others like shit, it should be the opposite. It should give you greater understanding of people and a reason to treat others how you wish to be treated. These YA books should be good role models
