About this audiobook

Fire and Water fight back.

Sophia

The battle for Orenda Academy has begun. The Elders have spoken, and the tribe is divided. The only way to reverse what’s happened is to take a stand.

We’ve started a smuggling operation to help students escape the castle, but it could cost us our lives. The prophecy is about to come true, and we’re desperate to change the course of this war.

The Air piece of the prophecy is our last hope. If we don’t find it, we won’t know what’s coming— or how to prevent the end.

Liam

The tribe’s darkest hour has come. Students labeled as “weak” have been subject to persecution. Sophia and I are no exception. The Elders consider us a threat— but they don’t know just how great of a threat we are.

An underground revolution is taking place. My father has set out to undermine the Elders, and he’s asked for my help. Information is needed, and to get it, I’ll have to become a spy, and risk execution.

In the middle of it all, I’m about to pop the question. I just hope I survive long enough to ask Sophia to marry me.

The story is still great as the first three books are. However, the two narrators are nowhere as well as the two of the first three books. The female narrator seems monotone with not much enthusiasm. The male narrator is okay, but seems to have trouble distinguishing the difference between characters.

Another great story in the series but what the hell did they do concerning the voice actors?! These ones are garbage compared to the originals

Disjointed, confusing and boring. The “hero’s” do nothing. They freeze during climatic events, inner monologue constantly disappoint. So frustrating as this had so much potential. But it’s like the authors wrote it while smoking too much marijuana. So sad. I want my life’s time back. :(

14 hrs of just straight misery, helplessness, and aggravation. I get it you have to build up but this is just too much. Its too similar to the Diary of Anne Frank for this to be enjoyable.

It sarted ok, but then got to politically correct. I mean they tried to make this story an awareness story, but it was to forced. The sex scenes were downright just dirty- over use of the word d*$ck, just not my taste. Tried to finish the series to give it the benefit, but stopped because the narrative was agonizing. Also the chosen readers-like the first two, these last two are just not that great.

Be prepared for genocide and heartache when you pick up this book. It was heartbreaking to listen to, I can’t imagine what it would’ve been like to read.

Ugh, it was only chapter 4 but I was feeling so over Sophia whining about not having kids..Dude! You're at a foster home!! ?‍♀️ Obviously there are children among the Hawkeye that need parents and love. HELLO?!! You were freaking adopted and adored your parents. Adopt!
(BTW, her parents have barely been mentioned and haven't made an appearance in the past 2 books. Maybe she forgot her first 19 years? ?‍♀️)

Anyhow, in this book our 4 main characters continue to search for the clues to the prophecy. Meanwhile, their society continues to breakdown around them. The 4 house system is changed to a 2 house system. (I.e. weak and strong or good and bad) The vast majority of the book, they make very little headway until it's too late. Sophia is struggling with PTSD from the destruction and devastation in the last book.

Meanwhile the new bad guys are taking a page from Hitler's book, including genocide.
I dunno, the series doesn't always feel genuine and original for me. It seems that the author's attempted to pull from enough different references that it would not be plagiarism exactly but also wasn't their unique thought. I'm going to finish but it likely won't be one that starts with me. ?‍♀️

Gosh the story is good. But Liam is so weak. Sophia is … lost.

There were a lot of hidden agendas by the author within this book. Also, this is definitely a book for adults only secondary to sexual content.

Ugh how can you change the voices in the middle of the series. The woman is terrible..

Good book, hated the male narrator. He made Liam sound like a child.

I couldn't even get through the first chapter. Terrible voice acting compared to the originals and the writing doesn't work like it did before. The name MOMMY is so excessive I can't handle it.

Okay so everyone can tell the voices being different is a problem for most...little tip that worked for me is I didn't listen for a couple of weeks and then didn't even remember what the first set of narrarors even sounded like at that point.
As for the book...well, I wanted to finish off this series bc the 1st 3 books were really good, but I just cannot with the clear Nazism of the things done in this book. I had to skip large parts of it bc it's just too hurtful and gorey what happens to characters you know and love. Sorry, but they went too far with that, in my opinion!!
