About this audiobook

Soulmates battle against darkness.

Emma

There was a time I thought love would last forever, but that love has turned to shadow.

My friends and I are in a race against time to save the fae from a future of destruction. If we’re to survive, we must unite the six Crystals of Harmony. It’s rumored the next stone is hidden deep within the Alicorn Court-- a secret fae society that’s more myth than reality.

Transfixed by strange visions, Odette may know the location of the Alicorn Court. But if the court deems us unworthy, our mission to find them could be our last.

Ethan

A darkness has devoured me, making my very existence a fight for my soul.

Black magic is warring against the man I used to be. If I’m going to stop the demons in my head, I need Emma at my side. Otherwise, I’m doomed to a hell I won’t escape.

But my actions have pushed her love aside. There’s only one way to mend things between me and my true mate. If it doesn’t work, I’ll be doomed to live as a beast forever.

I really like these stories, but I hate it when a series switches narrators after a couple books because it really affects the story for me. You already have a picture in your head then here comes a whole new version and that shatters the image you have already felt a connection with.

The female narrator was annoying and the way the female lead was so wishy washy bothered me too.

The book is really good, I almost didn't finish because the female narrator is awful. The only reason I will finish the series is because I'm invested.

I've said it a few times in reviews on other books in the saga. Seems like story regurgitation. Similar plot to ALL the other series. They had something great here. Wonderful ideas with poor execution. Literally every main female character has NO idea magic exists and they are flung into a magical world. They find their "true love" in one form or another. They break up. The male character pines for the female while she has romantic flings. Just starting to get exhausting. Add in the less than subtle political propaganda and the terrible discontinuity in the books and the authors all but ruined what was an amazing idea with what could have been awesome characters.
