About this audiobook

Angela: I know fear well. It’s had me looking over my shoulder since the day I ran from The Pack, Nevada’s most dangerous werewolf motorcycle gang. I’ve had seven years to build a life and my tattoo parlor with the help of my best artist, Jack. But I’m living on borrowed time. My ex-boyfriend may still be in prison, but that won’t stop him from getting what he wants — our son.

Jack: I want her, I crave her, but I can never have her. So I wait and watch from the shadows. But when a friend is murdered by the same gang that’s threatening Angela, I vow that they will never touch her. Their blood will be mine first.

She’s a wolf backed into a corner.
He’s vampire on a tight leash.

Welcome to Dark Ink Tattoo, where needles aren't the only things that bite.

Dark Ink Tattoo is a scorching paranormal in the vein of Sons of Anarchy, with strong sexual situations and bisexual MCs.

Editor's Note

X-Rated Sons of Anarchy...

Alexander describes her “Dark Ink Tattoo” series as “X-rated ‘Sons of Anarchy,’” but she also adds in paranormal elements, meaning the gang is made up of werewolves and vampires, not just motorcyclist criminals. The series is set in Las Vegas, and it’s as gritty and brutal as the Sunset Strip after all the tourists have gone to bed.

This is a bait and switch. If you go in knowing the two MCs are going to get together, then it’s a fun romp. But it starts out with a lot of VERY heavy insinuation that this is a romance between the MCs and… nope. If I knew that I would feel so let down.

Did not finish. Spoiler free description: white het MC, above the age of 20, has a small child, set in a modern day with supernatural elements.

Slightly spoilery (but not really bc i got through about one whole chapter before stopping): they talk about tattooing a lot and it sounded a bit like someone who has never tattooed before describing it, calling the machine a gun etc, but I’m not a tattoo artist so I could be completely wrong. Would’ve kept listening if not for the mc having a child.

I think this is the second book, or maybe not, I'm not sure. The book Blood at Dusk is how Jack and Angela were turned, which the ending of that book leads you to this one? I am not a fan of this ending as it left it kind of open, so maybe there are a few more books? There are plenty of stories, such as Rosalee, Grey, and possibly her son Rabbit...

I've been in an audiobook slump lately. I could not find a book that was worth even finishing. This series, though, is really good. I love the story, the writing, and the characters. The only problem is that just about EVERY. SINGLE. CHAPTER. has a drawn out sex scene. Every time the plot starts to move forward and you feel like you're about to learn something new, there's a long sex scene. (Though mostly well written) it's just too much for me. Take away half of the sex scenes, and the series could have been wrapped up in two, maybe three books. I don't mind sex in the stories I read/listen to, but I do come for the story and characters first. If you don't mind a little smut, then definitely listen to this book. You won't regret it. If you're like me, don't do it! You'll feel like you have to finish because it's actually so good otherwise.

I have really enjoyed what I have listened to. Great narrator, a lot of hot sex...... Umm, YES! Really good story, and will keep you engaged!

Both narrators did a fantastic job! The story was gripping and i'm eager to continue onto the next one.

Sexy, gritty, and weirdly compelling. It's basically two parallel stories, and I kept waiting for them to merge. It ended kind of abruptly. It's like the author reached her word limit and had to split one book into shorter chunks. Since i'm paying for a subscription instead of paying for them individually, I dont mind. I'll keep listening and keep pretending it's all just one book.

There is a lot of spice in this book! But I am actually loving the story line and will be reading the next.

Not terrible not great. Differently has a lot of smut. It is to be expected in a book that takes place in Nevada. The plot of the book is actually interesting and would have more. Other wise not a terrible listen. Will continue with the series

As a queer person this was absolutely delightful. This is romance written in a delicious and consensual way. Can't wait to hear the rest.

This should have been two different books, but I don't think they would've been long enough on their own. Lots of sex scenes, but not a lot of connection between characters. Lots of characters coming and going outside of 3 characters, so not a lot of connection or exposition. No real connection between the two main characters. The main characters just had random sex throughout different scenes/scenarios. Didn't make a lot of sense. Sex scenes are great, thom

Sex, sex, sex, and more sex. I didn’t really understand the book simply because the two main characters hardly had any interaction with each other and had sex multiple times every chapter with their separate partners. Hard to get into for me

A lot of spice. The storyline was meh. Not going to continue the story for now. Also the male narrator does not match the energy of the male character.

An easy read with excellent narration. Understandable storyline with just enough questions for a "not-exactly-what-you-expected" outcomes.

Most every character has a secret about who they are or what they want that they keep hidden. I do hope in the next book some of those secrets are revealed since the secrets are kept from the people most likely to accept them.

Not really sure about the ending. There wasn't a cliffhanger or an important plot point. The author just sexed us out like a slow fade. Oh well, on to the next!

Basically it’s just a book about a man’s sexual experience with several different people with a slight storyline in the background.

As an avid consumer of this genre - WOW what a first book. The sexual encounters are not cut and paste and the MM did not make me feel uncomfortable, instead thrilling. i want to continue reading/listening as I have to know more about each character. For the first time in a very long time, I have found another favourite author.

First book in a 6 part series. The synopsis doesn’t explain things as well as I would have liked. This book doesn’t have much of these two characters interacting in it. It is not a romance about them. It’s mostly their separate lives and how you start to see things around them are much more aligned than they knew.

There is a lot of sex, and without the explanation the second book brings (origin stories), it seemed excessive. It is actually necessary for Jack’s survival.

The second book is so much better and gives so much more to the story. If you can get through this one, you’ll love the next.

Side note: Matthew Holland is a fantastic narrator. Loved him in this and the Governor series.

More sex than story. Just not really my bag. I'd rather hear more of the storyline

I'm not really sure what was happening other than Angela protecting her son from his father and Jack having a hell of a lot of sex. Like all the time. That seemed to be Jack's main storyline with a little bit of detective work on the side. Angela had more of a plot-driven storyline which I found intriguing but she was sometimes annoying. Whenever there was a scene with Jack I instantly knew he was going to bring everything back to sex and that's basically what happened, which is a shame because I think his character had potential to be so much more.
